What happened to Switzer boats? My dad had a '72, 13.5 feet rated for 115, with a 'Rude 140. Boat flew. Later had approx 18 footer w/'Rude 175--also flew. Had a friend w/20ft and a Johnson 235---damned fast. Have not seen one in years, and have not crossed any on scream and fly.

Its just over an hour from my house to where it is sitting. I saw it comming back from the beach this summer. Looks like it could have potential. Can be bought cheep too.

search the site there are some threads on them. I see more of them around here than streams (i live a few miles from where they were built)
a guy down the street from me has one, its in primer black with an old chryco on it and some folding chairs and trolling motor. it sits in the water all summer with water puddling on the cover . i want to save her and give her a new home

Looks like a sk-175 w/windshield bent up, taking away how sleek these boats were. Ours last one was blue metal flake, w/white metal flake above and below the rubrail, wider at the back and tapering toward the nose--really sharp.
Kept a 13.5 footer w/140 'Rude perfect for 15 years--have a picture of her aired out at 75 mph blown up on my wall.
Did Switzer go belly up?

Just found a sk-175 open bow on iboats.com. Located in Illinois--$8000 on the trailer w/150 hp...wonder what she'd do w/my 3.1 liter Yamaha 225?! Ours was closed bow circa 1985, otherwise just like our boat. Hits me in the heart just looking at it.

Do a search for an old Switzer thread on Scream and Fly. It was pretty extensive with ,I think, even a post from Bob Switzer. There was also updates on restorations, etc. I looked for one in the northern Illinois area about six years ago. All were pretty worn out. The nicest one was stored behind Bakers but wasn't for sale.

Seems like it was mentioned in that old Switzer thread that the old plant is where the restorations were being done???
