Set your resize option to "bilinear." Use less compression when you save. Only open and save once. Each time you re-open a saved image then change it and save it again, it further reduces picture quality with additional compression. If you want to make a new change to an image, revert to the most original copy you have for editing.

Nice Skater!

Which version of Photoshop are you using? I've used every version since 4. I just upgraded to CS, which is very good.

Greg- I'm now using cs. I started way back in 1992 or so with PS 2.0... then I bought a bar and had to park everything. Don't know much about it yet. but... when I do, I'm going after 1BadStream. :D

I'm not even sure if Photoshop 2 has layers! If not, then you have some learning to do, but it's a lot of fun once you get used to it. Don't be afraid to work with adjustment layers and channels - they will work wonders for you if you're upgrading from Photoshop 2. Also, ImageReady is what you want to use for a lot of web-related content. When saving images, use the "Save For Web" command instead of "Save As".

If you need any help, just let me know.

Greg... I figured my problem out. I searched out a post regarding 'max image size' on S&F. I must have viewed something old that said that max size was 800 x 800 or 156K. I was optimizing photo & entering in 156k in a text box...it wouldn't work out. After wrestling with this thing, I searched another key word phrase & found out max is now 640 x 640 100K. In Photoshop cs, I just hit 'Image Size...', entered in one box, 640 pixels, constrained it, saved it normal, and its done fast. What a domass I am! Thanks for your help & patience. Tom.
