Has anyone else noticed that after venting the midsection, less exhaust seemes to be traveling through the vent holes in my prop. The result seems to be bogging more out of the hole. Any help? Thanks.

The exhaust is no longer ventilating your prop allowing it to slip so it bogs. Sometimes slip is good. Are you running an over the hub or threw-hub prop?

Before you vented the mid section were you running an exhaust liner. The liner can give you more backpressure and lowend.

Liqui-fly is right the holes in the prop are there to vent the blades alowing the motor to spin up. this is done for larger thru hub props so the boat can come out of the hole. It started with bass boats They kept puttting bigger motors on them and more batteries and things in the back. If they got a prop to get them out of the hole then it would turn a gillion RPMs so to get the RPMs down they started venting them. You may be able to get out of the hole with a over hub prop like a chopper. If you know any one with one you can try ,I would. Greg

The prop I have is a thru hub with venting holes. I did have the exhaust liner removed and a G-Force pipe, Bob's nosecone and solid mounts installed. The Hull is an 1982 Sleekcraft Tunnel bottom with a 200xri—12" setback jackplate. I will have to check the prop size now. Can you recommend a size for a chopper with this much setup info? Thanks for the feedback!

I would go with a 26P for all around fun.

A 26 Chopper sounds great to me. I have a 20 ft tunnel with a stock too and a 26" Chopper worked good all around. Find a big eared one though. Serial numbers should have an A4 or A5. Buy one that hasn't been worked so you can have it sent out and tuned to your rig after you run it and know how it runs.

I never question the people on the boards but if Im not mistaken a sleek craft is a very heavy hull if its the same as a friend of mines, that boat is very heavy 26 might be hard to turn out of the hole. Delawarerick
