scanner driver

I switched to Windows XP and can't find a driver for my UMAX astrascan 3400. Anyone have any ideas?

UMAX sells a CD with the updated software.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't pay but $30 for the scanner, so I am trying to avoid paying another $15 to keep using it. I may have to just buy a new scanner.

I ran into the same thing with an older Umax, they didn't offer a driver for XP, I went & bought a new scanner.

I tried Driverguide, and I guess I'm just too dumb to figure out what to download.

don't feel dumb, I do tech support for a living & couldn't find a driver there. Post your scanner model # & I'll let you know what I can find. When I tried finding one, it simply didn't exist

I can get to the site, but once I do, I don't know where to download the driver. Thanks for your help.

down on the bottom you have to enter the 3 letters and it will bring you to the d/l then click the blue file name and save it or run it

I tried that, but when I tried to run the .exe file, I got a message that it failed.

did you try to run it or save to ur hdd? are you using xp sp2 ? if so under the adress bar there will be a note go to options then run or save

I saved it to my desktop, and then tried to run it.

You should not have to but you could set up a partition on your hard drive with your previous operating system Windows ME I assume..?
