I just got a set of CCed heads from a supplier and they are dark gray.(Not painted) I traded in a set of the gold heads (stock) and upgraded to the newer ones with built in washers. I'll call the supplier on Monday, but thought I'd see if I'm missing something. I was hoping for a gold set. The part number is
18488-C4

If they were cleaned with an acid base cleaner the gold may have come off. Bead Blasting with also take the gold off. They should be fine as long as they are the head you are looking for.
