I want to know if you could have any boat out there what would it be and with what kind of power would it have!

05-11-2001, 05:42 PM
For the lakes I have close by, I'd really like Santa to bring me a new Checkmate 2100BR, factory blueprinted bottom, beefed transom, and the new 300X Promax hanging off a 14" setback hydraulic jack. I could seat 8 and still go over 80! Or maybe I'd rather have a new Allison Grand Sport Elite, with a 225X Promax and all the options. I'd have to leave 3 of those 8 on the shore, but then I could give more rides! Then again, it would be nice to have Hydrostream in Canada make me a new V-King, fully composite, beefed transom, blue-printed bottom, and hang a 280SS on a 6" setback hydraulic plate. Have to leave one more on the shore, now only 3 friends can go for a scary fast ride, but what a ride it'd be!

Now back to the real world. Wanted a 24 Skater, wanted a 21 Skater, and ended up with a Euroski! Which ain't all that bad considering the river water doesn't get that bad.

I have my dream boat... my Allison XTB! :)

You see those are all nice rides but I am talking about a DREAM machine. For me it would be a 46ft Skater with full canopies and twin 3600 G.E. Turbines attached to Arneson surface drives and Rolla props doing a 180 in the ocean. Or may be if I could afford the gas, I would have a drug runner special, a midnight express 39 foot center console ( midnightexpressyachts.com ) with quad 250 mercurys and just a center console with throttles with my girlfriend beating beat as we hit 8ft seas at 80 mph. That is a dream machine!

I'd have to have more than one:

For the open ocean it would be a 36' fountain or skater catamaran with twin Teague big blocks, maybe 1200 - 1500 hp each?

Big inland lakes would be a DCB Mach F28 with triple 300 Mercs.

River boat would be a DCB Mach 22. I can't decide if I'd want a single 300 or twin 2.5 280s. The 280s would definitley be faster, but the 300 will push the 22 to close to 95mph and its oil injected and has the charging system for the killer stereo.

Hi ! I have several "daydreams " I am using some thinking time on ....
One is the super lightweight carbon fiber single skin center console with thin layer of wood with clear inside.
A 4 or 5 cyl car diesel engine chipped and +boosted with
straight axle ,no gear box, just constant velosity joints and prop 2 feet back the transom .Ceramics inside coat in the car exaust manifold wraped with heat shealding wrap and cold air ducting.Adjustable pad for trimming . This would be the ultimate milage boat for Norwegian fuel prices...
The driver would sit on a long alu exruded piece running from the transom with air suspension /shocks and ajustble hight.
Other is cat with tuned snowsled engines one in each pod.

But I am very satisfyed with my Motion 25 with 2x260.
just worry to much about costly breakdowns....and high fuel
prices at 4,5usd a gallon..+oil....

Summer is almost here, and I dont have a scary fast ride yet! Thinking of putting the straight pipes back on the I/O so I can at least SOUND like I'm going fast..........I lose so much back pressure that it wont run over 55 that way LOL

The boat i dream of at night? I never have to work on it,it always has a little more to give when i ask it. It knows when im packin too much air and adjusts its-self.I should never have to put gas or oil in it.and best of all it never fails to win a race.If this sound too good to be true it is, so ill just hang onto my 1998 Frontline Action powerd by a 2.4 200 Merc and be thankful i have one and can spend time on the water with all the good folks who boat .

I would like an old wooden alcohol burning flathead powered unlimited hydro. I got to drive one once on Lake Washington and I still dream about it once a week. I dont think it went much faster than my 2.5 vking, but it was ten times the ride.

Have always wanted to try to stuff a high reving small block with a stern drive into an STV or Mirage but never had the guts to cut one up.
I believe big MPH numbers could come from this combo.
Maybe someday.

Just before Summerford sold STV, they were advertising a new model. It was penned the 22' Blast.

So in my mind I can picture a stretched 19' Euro with a single 300X ProMax that tops 100 mph with 5 people on board.

Maybe it will surface one day!

Sincerely,

Raging by day, still dreaming by night. Another 6 hours today, only hold 50 gals, no more lake gas. We are grabbing a quick bite, then back to the water for some night runs.

Today there was a group, 8-10, big fast guys that all took off side by side maybe a mile in front of us, we ran right through the middle of em at 90-95 through 2ft chop, boat wakes, flying perfection. Havasu edicate calls for all women on losing boats to bare thier breasts.

All i dream about are those long high speed runs, every night.

This is the dream, everything about my life is about this moment!

I'd have to go with Dewey on this one,I like the DCB's for almost anything or a 36'Eliminator cat with lots of HP,would be fine. The fun would have to come from a 10Ft.Schiada with a 2.5 Drag motor,if it didn't sink LOL. P.s. dont forget the nitrous on anything.......

I sold my 1996 liberator with twin 260's in march, but never had so much fun since! I'm looking to buy another one or may buy my old one back. It ran 121mph on gps turning 34 cleavers at 7700rpm.

I saw it in the boat trader not to long ago. It looked to be a smugglers boat. But it was a 60 foot center console all open deck. With TWIN 1000 HP MAN Diesels with arnesen drives. Claimed it would go 60 MPH in some serious seas. Throw on a tow bit a great stereo system and 3000 foot of rope and that is what I think would be one kick ass tow boat and a great party barge for 20 or 30 frineds! Or I would like any modvp syle boat that could pull a 4G turn and go fast enough to thrill me but not fast enough to kill me.

Dream boat would be a 50' enclosed cockpit, carbon fiber cat hull with "real" jet engines. Hit the 130mph mark on the water and out pop the swept back jet fighter style wings. Then you cruise over the waves. Once airborne just advance the throttles some and easily hit the 300mph mark. Get where your going and cut the power and come back to the water. I know it's a float plane i'm describing, just has to look like a giant flying skater. I would bet that if you asked Skater, Nor-tech or Outer Limits nicely, and had gobs of money, they would try and build it......

I have my dream boat (my HST), or at least the one I had so many dreams about and still do. I would love to have the same boat in Kevlar/carbon if I could...and who knows, maybe that may happen.

I sometimes think about a Mirage Jaguar or an STV River Rocket too, but with my motor still. I love that thing...it's cool sounding and fast as hell. Perfect.

A carbon fiber Allison XB21 2+2 with a short shaft 2.5 XS with 7500 rpms limter with 25 year warranty. The rear seats moved back 6" and losing a little of the back deck for more legroom. The rear seats on 2" risers. And for good measure some metal flake on the wings.....
