I'VE GOT A 18 MIRAGE RIVER RAVER. THE BOAT IS BY NO MEANS A LIGHT LAY UP. WAS WONDERING WHAT SPEED COULD I GET OR SHOULD EXPECT TO GET RUNNING A PORTED OUT, BALANCED 2.4 (NOT B-PORT) WITH A CLE AND A 28P HOSS? JUST RE-ASSEMBLED MOTOR. DAMN HEAD GASKET BLEW AND MELTED DOWN A SLEEVE. WITH THE 5 PETAL FRONT HALF A GOT UP TO 90 SPINNING A 28P CLEAVER AT 8K. NOW I AM RUNNING A 7 PETAL CROSS DRILLED. STILL BREAKING MOROR IN (SOME WHAT). WAS RUNNING 86 AT 7200 AND STILL CLIMBIN. ANY INPUT OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. MIKE

Don't have any idea how fast you will go but I have a boat like that. Mine I Mod VP boat and I have done a lot of bottom work to it. I would run a Chopper2 prop on that thing it will really help. That 2.4 should with a 26 chopper2 get near 100mph. I have never been able to get that crossdrill intake to perform right like I think it should so I don't know what you will get performance wise out of it. If you can find a 2.5 you will get more service life and better performance and be able to turn a 28" Chopper2 and be really movin on.
