Where do all the older hulls go?
Has anyone ever tried one of these as a go fast pleasure boat?
What are they worth?

I use mine more on the lakes than at the races. You just have to be careful as to boat wakes and waves. Yes, I can say that now. :D Used ones, depending on the year, are around $7000 and above without gearcase and powerheads. They are made for speedmasters and they have no nuetral or reverse. This makes it a little tougher to run on the lakes but still can be done. Tom

I always thought it would make a cool lake boat, but in Florida you MUST have an open cockpit. That canopy would slow roast you.

That looks like a BP gear case:eek: I was thinking that would be a neat thing, if you could find a new one. Old ones are worn or hard to get.

That looks like a super BP gearcase to me also, with a little butchering on the exhaust outlet/cavitation plate area and skeg. I'd say the life expectancy is somewhere between 3 and 5 seconds on a V6 since they wouldn't live on a 1250 BP inline 6

round ear prop, went back and looked at the picture. Looked like a two blade, closer look maybe a four blade. They say the eye's are the first to go...or memory....as long as it's not the important thing I guess I don't care too much.:D

I tell you what, it was way faster than me at the Rumble by 4-5 boat links out of the ditch!! He said he didn't think it hit 100 but it was wicked fast off the line. He was running N2O also. I was hitting 106 at about 830 feet. It was a pretty cool sight to see from my view. Tom

I have more. That was a 8 meg picture cut down. I'll dig through my photos and sii if I have a clearer one. I thought I heard it was a OMC V-4 racing lower unit. I also have Video of that boat running and it was very fast.

A old V4 strangler lower unit, I was going to post that but I had to get going. Kind hard to tell with a bad photo, but it has a place on the leading edge where you can tie it down, a sign of OMC race case. Figure you migth be able to buy a old racing gear case cheeper than a new cle or sport.

That looks to me like an omc kr15 clubfoot like I have. They are a 1.62 gear with no neutral or reverse.

That guy runs up at Blarneys a lot. Don't know his name. But i'm sure someone around here knows who he is.
that gearcase took a lot of hard launches out of the ditch, i've never seen an outboard launch like that.

If any of you are interested in a tunnel, my father has two of them here at my place in storage. Haven't got them wet in years and I have been after him to get rid of them. One is a ModU Seebold (wood) and the other is a LeeCraft formula 100 (glass). They will need some TLC, but nothing major. Definately less than $7k!
Email me if you think that you may be interested.
