It seems that many topics seem to come up every couple of months or so. "Which oil or ratio to run", "fuel octane", 'fuel additives", "nitrous oxide","which boat is best - or best for me", "how do I ____", etc.

There are posts on many topics on this great website going back at least as far as early 2001. There have been, and still are, many very knowledgeable posts on these topics.

By using the SEARCH function on these forums, almost anyone can find more info than they may really need or want. But, few new members seem to realize how much great info is archived here, or how to get it. As a result, many of the same topics are brought up over and over. Lets face it, a lot of boat guys (and gals) are NOT computer gurus.

If we (as members) were to put together some of the best posts on several of the topics that keep coming up, is it posible to have an area to keep this information readily available to new (and old) members?

I will get off the soap box now, Greg - I just had an idea, and it could be good for this site.

Good idea Wayne, and now that we re-indexed the search table, the search function works flawlessly now.

Your idea has been brought up before too, and I think it's a good one. Maybe we can create a "best of the forums" page with the frequently asked topics.

Do you think that you could put a search link a the top of all the pages? Right now, when I want to do a search in a specific area or time frame, I have to type a word in the search box and get the results. Then I go back up to the top of the results page and there is a link to the real search page with all of the search features.

Maybe you could just make the word "Search" (next to the drop down box that has the default of "Forums") a link to the full search page?

This search issue is really just a small one that I have been thinking of for a while. I do like the idea of a FAQ type place. Maybe it could be a page(s) that are broken down into topical sections that have links to some good threads.

Just an idea; Thanks for Scream and Fly!
