Just wondering who was the first manufacturer with power trim??

I think Merc used to have a ad that stated that they were the first full hyd. trim and tilt system. OMC was tilt but no trim , I think? But there were a ton of engine builders over the years so I'm really not sure what the first trim system was hung on. You might need to ask one of the real old timers that question or check the patent office.:D

The guy next door has an old glasstron I/O, had to replace that exact same trim switch in it this spring. My '73 inline has it, but I had a '76 80hp inline without once. Had a plate trim under it I should have kept.:rolleyes:
