I was wondering if anyone has any first hand experience of running a 24 skater with twin v8s. I was wondering how fast and handling? I would love to see pics of a 24 skater with some big 8s on the back. I remember 10-12years ago in Babylon there was a bright yellow 24 skater with twin 300xp Evinrudes on the back. I think the name of the boat was "psychic connection" or something. That was always my the one I wanted. I would give my left nut to see some pictures of that boat if anyone has them. Thanks

I'd say they're a little on the heavy side and the 24 was designed for twin 2.4 V6 Merc's specifically.

I'll PM you my address for that left nut WOT RACING. :D

Below is a link to pics of Ryan Beckley's 24 Skater, which had twin Johnson V8's on it when he bought the boat.

Hey Laser LOL I will be sending that nut overnight right after the ride:eek: What time do I need to be at the ramp and more importantly how would you like it shipped....Frozen or is there a better way!!!! This is great, I will still have a right nut available for any other rides.....LMAO;)

By the way that boat looks so much better with the merc's Its like those were the only motors that should ever be on these boats!!!!

A friend of mine has one sitting in his back yard. He has'nt run it in 4 or 5 years. It's got 350hp "Second Effort" Evinrude V8 offshores on it. He said it used to run 116mph.

I've already had two emails asking the same thing. He did talk about selling it and getting a REAL boat {24 Liberator} I'll see if I can get hold of him. It needs some TLC, but is a freshwater boat from Lake George, NY. I believe it's a 1987.

I have a picture at home of Steve Quick's 23' Eliminator Daytona with twin V8's. That boat looked like it was sinking off plane. Really did not look balanced. I think those big white refrigerators make no sense on a small boat.

Those aren't your typical V8's. :D

Instigator has a bunch of literature on those motors. If memory serves me right, they are 345-350 hp??
I think they are basically de-tuned F1 V8 motors. They run on high octane pump gas and turn less rpms than the F1 V8.

A sweet and rare combo there.

Hey bone,it wasn't a skater it was a talon!! it was my friends boat, when he got it it had mercs on it,then he put v-8's on it ,i don't think it went any faster, but i'm not sure,i'll ask him next time i see him. the name was first cosmic deibre, then BT's express. the sad thing was that after he put the cementmixers on,some prics stole it and swiped the motas and left the boat, they should of left the motas and took the boat!!! tripps
