serial number 5058139... it is a v6, clamshell cowling, i *think* its a 20 inch motor... 2 ram trim/tilt, with separate motor/resivour... i believe it also has oil injection also... would like to know year/hp of the motor, put the serial in parts express, but says its invalid? double checked the serial and its correct 5058139

FROM THE SERIAL NUMBER I THINK ITS A LATE 1978 MERC 175 OR 200. AS FAR AS THE OIL INJECTION IT SHOULD BE PREMIX. ALSO PARTS EXPRESS ONLY GOES BACK SO FAR ON ENGINES.HOW FAR I DONT KNOW. HOPE THIS HELPS.....ROB

nonono not going merc... the guy that blew his motor up got a v6 merc from his neighbor for free.. compression is a little on the low side, but even across the board.... just tryin to find out a little more on it.. hes gonna bring it over to the house tommorrow and gonna get it fired up... it was originally going to go on his neighbors skiff but the skiff was destroyed so he didnt want it and wanted it outta his shed so he gave it to him... so now i get to deal with that.. only one problem so far and that was some jb weld on a part of it.. worst comes to worst i can run over to a place i used to work and weld it back up... good as new :P


bob, you comin over this coming friday? hehehehehe.. id like to try the skiing thing, will have to let you drive the boat :P
