Serial # ?

Is there a serial # on the power head?
I have a # on the clamp (6592003) but wondering
if any #s are on the powerhead.
Looking for the year.

Most 2.5s have it on them, if it’s a black production 2.5 it will be on the freeze plug on the top of the block. Other 2.5 it should be stamped on the side.

I was told its a 1984 2.4

Some 2.4s had the #s stamped on the side but not too many.

I've always seen them in the freeze plus on the top of the engine. But I have gotten motors that have had them removed by mercury when they got rebuilt.

Yes its on the freeze plug on the top.
And its the same # as the clamp.
