Yes, you likely will be able to run some jet boats. The best year IMO was year before last when they had KDBA clocks and ET's so you picked an ET class from 6 to 14 or 15 seconds . Most outboards ran in the 9 sec and up. Several ran the 8 sec. There were a good number of outboards. Last year they changed to running by mph and again had a nice bunch of outboards. So you would choose 60, 75,90,100, 150mph, etc. and have to run within plus or minus 5mph of that mph. Typically you want to drop 2 pitches from your 1/4 mile prop ( 24 down to 22 or 26 to 24) Course length runs about 800-900 ft. No weight restrictions so lighten that puppy as much as you can! Love to hear those Alky boats run. Good payout for the winners too :D

I was all cranked up to go and race at Ottawa but as it turns out my oldest daughter has a graduation in Pittsburg and that's something I can't miss.
I took several videos last year and posted them on the
www.michiganhotboats.com site.
Whoever is going and can take some MPGs and send them to me I will put them up on the site.
I hope they get some timing lights like two years ago.
Last year was real "back woods" with the pontoon boat in the middle of the race course with a radar gun.

KOSH payed out last year three fifty pluss a dinner and drinks Tom takes care of the people, and a free get naked show, that is superb. Also you can win money on the side betts, and Steve he said the 2 highest speed boats will run at the end in a drag race, for more money, its a great party, hope to see ya.Jeff

Yes I really wish Ottawa had the timing lights again. That was nice. Jeff, I may call you this week. Email me some details on Kosh as well. So far I'm still on for Ottawa. Wish we could do both this year!:D

I will run Ottawa, not sure which boat but its in my backyard, even if they did have a few questionable calls last year. I believe the payout for Ottawa is $8500 so the $$$ ain't bad, I think a few of the SLDBA and KDBA guys may be here.

I have to agree with Jeff that the Bikini show at Kosh is the BEST but of course that could get you in trouble, LOL

Hope that some of you decide to come to Ottawa.

I can't remember there being that many close calls last year really. There were a few. But the people sponsering the race down there certainly have been informed of the loss of boats showing ( and loss of entrance fee) by now and the reasons as well as the complaints when it happened last year. Hopefully they will have the KDBA timing lights next year. Hard to argue with those. Anyway, we are still going to Ottawa. Nice course, well organized, good pay ( as I'm sure Kosh is as well , just never been there). We'll just have to win by a little more this year. :D

If your not gonna race, is it best to leave the boat at home?

Hey Rick

Will not be racing this year due to other commitments on that day.
Hope to be down that way before the season ends. Lots of luck and hope you have a great day for the race.

Red Alert - if you are not going to race leave your boat at home.
Best spectator area is along the race course on the north shore of the river. If you bring your boat you will be in the spectator boat area which is on the east side of the bridge well past the finish line. You won't see much racing from that area.

a mid 90's long bed is a must.
other than the 8' bed . Auto trans and a V8
I am up in the air after that whatever looks good and I would like ta stay away from a 454 or 460 BB.

Just won some money in the State Lottery so I am looking at a budget of 10,000.00 for a used truck.
So not only mid 90's ta get into that price range but also for insurance reasons....my license ain't the best:(

Would like to give the business to someone I know:)
