132.7 MPH. Cant remember the guy's name. Heck the whole thing was a blurrrrr. Didn't see the boat up close, looked like a STV from a distance.

132.7 MPH UPSTREAM in less than perfect water, there was some chop and boat waves. It was a STV, white with a little yellow from Georgia and I don't remember his name either, they had a all white STV with them also that they said was lighter but in that rough he didn't want to run those BIG #s. This guy has a BIG SET to run those numbers. Tom Wright ran 119 in his SST120 boat. The guy with the Pugh Hydro wasn't around today (before I left) I really wanted to see it run.

The guys from Ga. came ready to with 1 thing in mind and that was to beat last years #, 1st pass and they had it.

Thanks to all I had a great time but didn't even want to try any top end

Rick

I had nothing for that STV after I heard his numbers. It was awesome to see it run from the water too, very impressive!! Thanks for the show guys!! It was an STV with a 12" mid and a #4 speedmaster with an S3000. I'm sorry I'm terrible with names!! I can't wait for next years Rumble already. :D Tom

The white and yellow STV that posted 132.7 upstream is a TRIAD factory rigged STV River Rocket owned by Greg Kenrick of North Augusta SC. It was built as a three seater, and we built him a race cowling also. At 132.7 you guys didnt get to see all it had. I guess the upstream run and the rough water cut it back some. The solid white TRIAD STV River Rocket that out ran everyone saturday in the drag races is owned by Micheal Dixon in Georgia. Micheal was going to run it in the top speed runs also, but the water was too rough. Both boats are capable of running speeds higher than the 132.7 they ended up with. These are the only two River Rockets we have ever built with 12" midsections

Came out to play, but before Dave's boat caught on fire. Nobody was touching his Champ boat. There was a quartermaster that he went up against that gave him a run for his money, but didn't see the white STV walking all over everyone in the drags on Saturday?

Rex, I don't have the spray yet. I have seen 126 on GPS at home though. It takes me about 1/2 mile to get there too. I was seeing 104-108 at the end of the 830 foot track. Everybody was holeshotting me but I came on at the end. Tom.

I'm sure several remember it. I had come in to lean it down from 107 to 100(had been breaking in new motor), to get stumble out of SVS, and to up prop sizes(was turning 10,400 with a 24 in 850 ft) When we were headed to the ramp is when the capsule boat caught on fire. Never got to run it. It was a fun event and alot of nice people. Tony put on a first class deal and the location(other than being 9.5 hours away way wonderful. Thanks again Tony and Cathy.

Micheal I had the pleasure of lining up against your White STV on saturday, I didn't care who I ran I was having fun!!! All I saw was the back end of the boat as it just ran away from me, I ran against Rons Qmaster Saturday and Daves tunnel Friday (not sure if Dave sprayed or not that run) but it was one of the 2 quickest boats my poor little Mirage lined up against. I hated that you didn't run it Sunday top end but as a very light boat in rough conditions I fully understand!!!

Talking to you guys on Saturday is why I stayed Sunday just to see if your boats where really that fast, my hats off to Triad and you guys for a blistering show!!!

So who was crowned King of the Rumble this year?? Warlock Dave must not be back yet or else he's recovering. Did he send the Canadian drinking team home with their heads bowed??

Michael Dixon
08-09-2004, 01:45 PM
Thanks Rick for the complements. I usually don't dragrace(from idle) but had a ball doing it. I met alot of fun people and enjoyed cutting up. I got the stumble out and leaned it down and should have been much quicker but that fire kinda stopped the racing and started the drinking. I was really looking forward to running the white one Sunday(thats why I didn't run it so much Saturday) but if I had been in it when the quartermaster pulled in front on me I can promise it wouldn't have been good. I was planning to run 135 with both but I couldn't do it with either upstream and in that rough water. Regardless I had a ball and it was nice meeting you and your crowd.

I think that is 2 years in a row for TRIAD STV's with the top speed numbers at the Rumble. Dennis Vitolo with his TRIAD STV was at the top last year, with Blake (TRIAD STV) not far behind. Was Blake there this year?

If thats the Red and Black one from Canada yes he was there, ran him a couple times on Sat but i couldn't keep up he was FAST, not as fast as the White STV tho. He never made a top end run that I saw on Sunday, maybe to much parting they didn't show up till later Sunday after Mike ran. Congrats on the BIG #S I guess that goes along with the BIG SET to drive that fast.

Congrats Mike!!! It was awsesome watching both of those STV Georgia boats run!!!! It was also a riot talking to you guys on Saturday after the drags! I am still laughing at some the things you said! (Especially that clapping joke! Ha, Ha,...) We were the guys from Michigan with the Edge boats. I figure I better remind you since you were having such a good time! I am not quite sure if you remember talking to us!:p

Congrats to the guys from georgia...I was there when they pulled in...they scared me on the trailer with no gearcases on much less once they hit the water.....

I gave him $20.00 and he said not to pay him. He said no one else did so don't worry about it. I wish mine had hit atleast 120 but oh well, I tried. Good to see you there even though we didn't talk much. Tom.

Ya Blake was down there, but with a Summerford built Mod-vp. It is a pure drag boat ( roundy bottom ), it had an ODBA Superstock setup. Drag with 37cc heads. He is quick!. His Triad built STV is Faster!

Who was crowned King of the Rumble?? Last year the same pro-gas boat was second (by about 4mph) in top speed and went on to wade thru the drags to get beat by a nose...and that was by a heavy nitroused unlimited. A challenge went out and they ran again. That time, the roles were reversed. I don't think the top speed winning STV got in the drags. Same thing this year??

Michael Dixon
08-10-2004, 12:37 PM
I think the deal was you had to participate in all three (drag, poker run, and top end) I'm sure someone did all three but I don't remember any of the top end boats going on the poker deal. I met alot of people that I'm just putting there user name with their face. Looking forward to next year.

Congrats to Wingnut. From some of the other posts/threads sounds like he had a rough time. I'm almost afraid to ask what Warlock did to earn "Hooters Select." Obviously, he wouldn't have won anything by exposing himself.;) I can only hope he didn't embarras the Blarney's crowd TOO much.:D

Yeah I wish you and Mike would have went. We could have had two trains. And ain't nothing slow about either of those two family boats. Although I'm hearing trash about the river rocket I ran with the Euro. It was definitely all in fun or I wouldn't have went against a 175 lb lighter boat that had a drag prop, svs, xr-6, and more compression with a euro with a 30 mazco, horn, sportmaster and stock compression. We probably will go to another in the next 30 days so get in touch and we'll plan a drunk fest(road trip)

I heard the same ****. "He wasn't running as hard as he could". Had a full tank of gas. Same **** different day. Whatever. I'll run him for money if he lets four people ride with him then the weight might be equal. Oh I forgot it is only a 3-seater. Sounds like ya'll had a great time. Is there another event in the near future ya'll are going to?

For those who don't know Mr. Dixon, this is the same sick individual that need 4 slicks for his 2500 Duramax deisel truck. He is truely a speed addict.

Good work on setting the bar higher at this year's rumble.

You ought to put your 24 on and go a quarter mile pass against Robbie at 1800 pounds-
- get your motor fixed and lets go play some more
are you going to Lake Murray in SEPT? Hopefully we can get a big portion of the local group to go.

You got a deal. BUT, here are the parameters.

1-I set the amount- Hell you beat me for free last time. Atleast I can pay your gas money

2-You gotta let me get my mota fixed-I thought I could hold my PROMAX wide open for 6 miles. May be ready by Murry.

3- I pick the people that ride with you-so far I've got your adopted son Jerry. The others want be as light as him.

How does this sound? p.s. Don't come out there messin with me while I'm trying to break this thing in.

TRIAD BOATS

Thats sounds good. Everyone needs to be brought back to reality. Can it be at the very end of the season when his mota might be a little tired? I don't think those BOATWORKS motas get tired do they?

Dinomite-Jes remember the only thing "DIAMOND" I have is a damn ring I just bought.
