I have a 9 year old 225 pmax thats giving me water pressure probs at low speed. This thing started this last year no water pressure at idle , installed a new impellor worked shortly then lost idle pressure but had low pressure at speed or part of it around 8-10 lbs. motor lost a piston last fall new sleeve, rering, noticed gasket under top waterpump housing blown out on the side. Installed new impellor and gaskets, then i had low pressure at idle and low pressure at wot 7-10 lbs and sometimes when you gave it gas waterpressure would drop before it climbed, changed from torqmaster/tooters gearcase to sporty added all new water pump components base to top, poof had 5lbs idle and 17 at wot at even with the pad for a half a day now no idle pressue again but 15/17 wot any one got any input on this deal thanks in advance B.V.

Are you getting a steady stream of water from the nozzle? If so check your thermostats, they may be frozen open.

How did your impeller look when you replaced it last? Was it chopped up, were the blades cracked? I am having some problems with my pressure readings too, I get about 10 at idle and 15 - 18 at WOT but it jumps a lot at higher R's, looking at my stream though I can see good pressure, some spitting too. I can even relate the spitting to the surges in pressure on the gauge. Do you have a temp gauge installed? how is that reading?

Have you asked the tech's for the type motor you have? If it is a merc sometimes they will help you online.

The rubber grommets on each end of the copper tube and the tube itself for a split. You may also need to check that the correct powerhead base gasket was used.

CORRECT GASKET???????/ HMMM SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING I WOULD NOT HAVE CHECKED CLOSELY. I REMEMBER SOME KIND OF TROUBLE I HAD WHEN I CHANGED MOUNTS OUT BUT IVE GOTTEN COFFE STAINS ON MY MEMORY CARD THESE DAYS AND THINGS ARE NOT AS CLEAR AS THEY ONCE WERE. I GOT THEM FROM BRENT GILL OUT OF HOUSTON (AFTER MARKET) JUST BEFORE MY TROUBLE STARTED. GROMET ON TOP OF PUMP HOUSEING???? THERES IS A SMALL PC OF RUBBER INSIDE THE TUBE HOLE IS THAT IT? THANKS FOR JOGGING MY MEMORY DAVE BOBBY V.;)

The rubber grommet at the top of the copper line. It should be in the exhaust housing. There are a few different base gaskets and a couple of different gaskets between the halves where the mounts are located. If you use the wrong one it will keep the wateer from circulating. Get your engine serial number off the block and contact Rickracer.

WELL I TORE IT TO PIECES LAST WEEK. IT HAS RIGHT GASKETS! I REPLACED THE TUBE SEALS BOTH ENDS, CHECKED TUBE FOR CRACK OR HOLES!!!!!!!!!!! NOTHING REASSEMBLED THE WHOLE DEAL NOW I GOT ABOUT 2LBS AT IDLE PLENTY AT WOT. BUT ITS GOT A PUNY STREAM OUT THE TUBE. WONDER IF THE BOTTOM PART OF THE WATER PUMP IS THE RIGHT ONE ON THIS SPORTY? BUT IT DID IT WITH THE TOOTERS TOO:confused: I ALSO WENT OVER THE EXHAUST ADAPTER TO SEE IF ANY DEFUCCALTYS WAS PRESENT I DID NOT SEE ANY THING. I THINK IM GONNA STICK MY 260 ON IT AND LET THIS PROMAX SIMMER A WHILE :(
