Is there something fishy here?
If you go to the link below and click on the last ad you will see "XTREME CAT 21 100MPH"
Rod Garcia has posted pictures here on S&F of 21 Skater copies that are supposedly boats built in Italy and sold now in Miami.
Today I'm looking at the Offshore Only classifieds and his photos (the ones he has posted here many times) are advertised under the name Xtreme Cat 21?????
I thought Xtreme Cats are built by Todd Ferguson in Florida????
Now I do a search on Rod Garcia's name here on S&F and all his posts regarding 21 Cats are gone. I think he used to call them Power Cats or something.....????

They actually look like nice boats but I have always thought something is fishy. So what's up with calling them Xtreme Cats now?

I think he called them Sportcats. Seems like the rooster got in the hen house?

Not a bad looking boat.. Seats look pretty functional but the spec sheet says the weight at 1800 lbs.. I sure hope that is rigged..

1.Why would he have such a crappy trailer if he's selling these nice boats
2. Why does he inquire about other 21 Skaters or copies that are for sale.
3. Why doesn't anyone have one of these or know Rod Garcia and his boats?
This Italy thing makes me thing of the emails I get from the guy wanting to wire me $15000 to buy my $5000 boat and I have to just send him back the other $10000

1800 is probably rigged minus motor.
My 21 Skater was 1675 rigged minus motor.
Chris you're becoming a regular.

I remember that boat. Especially the trailer. WEIRD trailer.
Rod's boats look good in photos. I'm not about to make any blind comments beyond that. I spoke with Rod once about the Italy boat. I was told the Italians raced them with inline seating configuration. I think Rod must travel to Italy on business (Ducati maybe). I think he is in the motorcycle as well. He told me he saw the boat there, liked it asked for the traditional side by side seating with a rear bench and a little heavier layup for running in the ocean. He also said the shipping was the same price for 1 boat or 4 boats because of the container size. Sounds reasonable. That's all I know. I would love to one in person and get some performance data on one.

So where did the molds or pops come from for his Powercats or Sportcats, and why is he advertising them as Extreme?

I'm sort of looking for a 21' cat and he has contacted me about these. I go down to florida for a week or two every winter and was planning on checking them out while I was down there this winter. I'll let you all know what I find.

Mike
I'm not sure I know what you mean. Rod's boat are imports from Italy as I have been told. In the photos that I have see, they look like direct copies of the original Skater, curved transom and all. "Where did the molds come from "? Who knows?
If you are refering to the yellow boat on the weird trailer, I have no clue.
