Here are some pictures of our first Venom Comp. Obvious changes are no carpet, hull and deck not just glassed at rubrail, but we also glass the cockpit seam, no hardware, center steering, this boat also has bow battery trays and bow weight box. The seat has also been lowered approximately 5 inches and is through bolted into an alum plate. Weight depends on your requirements for class.

Question was ask about transom construction. The transom is all composite with 3/4 inch knees and a composite 2 x 4 cross brace. Knees tie into the bottom of the boat. All of it laminated with 1708 and 1808 biaxle.

Good God I wish I wasn't so damned broke!
Jim Cotzen... My hat is off...
Congrats on such a fine looking machine...
What is a good weight you can get one down too and feel good about the construction? 600#'s? 550?

That thing is the "dude." I might have found a new home for my 280. It sure would be nice to have a boat that I could get the way I wanted it. Jim, I think the aproach you are taking with the new 'streams is going to ensure the success of your company for years to come. Keep up the good work.

Weight depends on what you intend to do with the boat but hull and deck weights in the 650 area is do-able. General weight on a river comp would be about 700/740 pounds. Race boats just depends what your willing to give up. We vac bag the hull core and will keep lamination schedule consistant with what we believe to be safe. We can take weight from the deck for a race comp.
Price point on the Venom Comp is $15,995 on a single axle w/brakes. Price includes Sea Star Pro with their new hi perf cylinder, interior, and right now a promo of Nordskog GPS and NEW Digital Tach w/recall and a water pressure gauge. From there we have a short option list.

To be honest, it is a introductory price, I need to get some on the water. All the current owners of the standard Venom are amazed and love their boats. I know there are some river racer guys, that have just been waiting for something like this, once we get the boat going it will sell itself.

A next-generation performance boat, but still unquestionably a Hydrostream. The Venom had many heads turning (including mine!)
Here's Clyde at Balz To The Wall today:cool:

The Venom is the most fluid, brutally beautiful, piece of artwork to hit the water in 20 years.
I will have one of these, I just have my sights set on some investment real estate right now, that I can't live without.
But in a few years...the tide will take a sweet turn for me, so.......

Jeff, I may be back in the plant this afternoon, if not I will give you a call Monday.
Jay, hope to see the boat running on the track soon, we need some time to work on set up, as you know organized drag racing is not river racing. The Venom was not designed as a pure drag boat, it was designed as a easy to drive lake/river sport boat. That said, the boat has awesome acceleration, we will have to see if its enough to be competitive.
