Electrical system Expert Needed!!

Got a 2000 Mercury carb motor that has the new cdi igition on it, It has a rev limiter built into the cdi box, can I by pass it or use a old style electrical system on it.

I think you are refferring to the switchboxes??? :confused: If so, you can get some high perf ones. The part number is on here somewhere. Also, saw some for sale in the classifieds.

This is not a high performance motor , it is a stock 2000 200hp

You can not disable the rev limiter but CDI/RAPAIR can. You can use another ignition system as long as the stator is the right capacity and fit and that system doesn't have a rev limiter. I'm not an expert either but I did fall asleep in a OMC Service School once, kind of like a Holiday Inn.

Its a C.D.M. engine? If so and you like to use oem parts get a control module for the 240 sport jet. Its modules rev limiter is not contained in the box.
