View Full Version : photo: What kind of pontoon boat is THIS?
I posted this in another thread before. Saw this on the Huron/Portage chain of lakes a few weeks ago. There were some older folks riding on board. it appeared to be a triple-log pontoon boat, approx. 30-35 feet long, with a sun deck. It had a pair of 60 hp 4-stroke Mercs.
This thing should have side thrusters! What IS THIS?
Both photos are from the Huron River between Portage Lake and Baseline Lake. My favorite place to go with the boat.

Don't know what size or make it was, but at the Superleague races this past weekend at Pickwick Damn in TN, there was a good size pontoon on display with twin 250X Merc's on it. It even had a ski bar mounted over the driver console area.

I looked at a 44' (as I remember) it had a single Mercruiser 260 for power. It was built for special construction use and never made it to work. A friend of mine bought it and it sat at a marina for several years. he said the boat cost over 50K to build new. When I looked at it it only had 50 or 60 hours on it. It needed all of the furniture railing and carpet. I didn't want to buy it 5K and dump another 10K to make it usable as a party boat, so I let it go. The guy that owned the boat sold it and it was shipped to Florida and re fitted as a giant party toon boat.

It's a special order model, they make them for the owners of retirement homes. They take all the boardee's out on Sunday's. load 'em and unload 'em at the home, safety belt 'em in for the trailer ride to and from the lake. Safety first you know.;) :D
