Does anybody have or know anything about the mini scarabs that wellcraft made?
I am thinking about buying a 1997 (18 or 19') Scarab that was a recovered theft, (No interior, No motor, No drive).
From what I know, they went like 50mph. I am think about filling the hole, mounting a bracket and bolting on a v6 Mercury OB.
What do you think?
Will it be to ass heavy? Will it go fast? Am I waisting my time?
Any comments appreciated...

They came in two versions: one with a jet drive and the other an outdrive. Almost bought a new one in 1996 or 1997 because I couldn't afford a 22 footer. Think it would work well with a V6.
Good luck

Stopped by to look at it again.
It is a complete boat with trailer and interior minus the engine / outdrive and engine hatch.
Spoke with the used car dealer that was selling it.
"$3900 bucks for that thing", he said.
"Your on crack", I said.
Maybe for like $1000.
Anybody else interested, let me know...

Those boats went for around $13,000 new. If the floor and stringers are in good shape and the interior vynal is ok, it might be worth a couple of grand. Throw a used 200 on it with a lift plate and it might be a fun project. At least no one will have anything like it.

I know of at least one other.
I saw one in Fort Lauderdale. It was a 1993 with a bracket and a Mercury OB.
That is where I got the idea.
I am gonna throw the money at my Banana Boat instead.
Thanks for the replies though.
