I have the older version of the 5700... It is the 5000. No problem with high speed action shots. I have used it for years for snowmobile and boat shots. Easily it will produce some to the best digital pictures without needing a masters in photography

The colors are off on that camera. The greens should really be pinks.;) My brother has a Kodak. I'm unsure of model number but it seems to take pretty good photo's. Plus you can buy the port to load the camera into and print hardcopies. If he can operate it, anybody can. I'm also kicking the tires on digital camera's so this thread will help.

The Nikon 5700 is one of the best non-SLR digital cameras you can buy.

forget ebay, go to www.bestbuys.com look for a good place , one that is rated as a trusted site. the 5700 new is cheaper from a good site that off ebay. all ebay is dealers selling a refurbuished for more than new . now untill the end of sept ( i think ) there is a 150.00 rebate on the 5700 . check out www.buydigs.com

do the 5700's pictures post straight to screamandfly or do they need to be resized or reformatted ?

Heath,

Almost any image should be resized. It's better to shoot at high resolution and resize and compress the image on your computer, this way you still have a high resolution copy of the original.

Here is an image taken with a 5700:

That's incredible, it's about time I get with the electronic/digital program.

i agree about the n 5700 of olympus 730,740,750,775etc and a few other like cameras go to

look i his reviews under picy details. what you need is a low picture lag time under 0.5 seconds. it seam picky but try several camera push the shutter and time how long it takes to actually take the picture. do this in a real camera store. now ask to try a nikon dx1 or dh2 single lens camera. note it take the picture almost imediatly.

the trick to using the above cameras is to pre focus by half pressing the shutter to focus and measure. doesnt always work thu.

best is to buy canon rebel or nikon 70 but their under 1200.
