i have a medallion high performance pickup but it will not fit on the bottom of my boat, is there any other kind of pick ups that are hi performance and won't flip up after going past 70mph.. i have a humminbird gps fish/depth finder. i just put all new gauges in the boat last year, and would at least like to see the speedo working past 70 mph before it flips up..

Why do you want the pitot tube speedo? You have GPS. Why not use the dash hole for something else. Fill the holes on the transom and eliminate that as a possible rot spot.

Why don't the medallion fit?

I had a Nordskog on my STV that would read well into the 100's. Don't know how accurate it was, but I do know the boat would run well over 115.

Removing your in-dash speedometer & pick-up & replacing it with a GPS Speedo head(gauge), that will fit in the exact same dash hole(3 3/8") that the old speedo came out of. You should'nt need another GPS antennae to make it work. All you have to do is, tie into your exsisting GPS with a simple wire connector kit that can be purchased when you buy the GPS Speedo. Since there is already a GPS antennae built into your fishfinder, it can use that one. GPS Speedo heads go for about $225.00 or so. I bought mine at Gaffrig Performance. Their number is: 630-213-8500. Hope this helps. M/C

I'm still confused why someone would want 2 speedos?
Either the pitot or the gps head unit in combo with a gps?

Techno...Will his GPS/Fishfinder also indicate boat speed? I thought a GPS/Fishfinder only helped you return to a given location on the lake by memorizing the coordinates via sattelite? If it also will tell you how fast your going, then I stand corrected. M/C

yes my gps unit gives speed, water temp, depth, map of the lake and so on. but i have already sent the gps antenna back to them once and they replaced it.. the reason for 2 speedo's i do not have alot of confidence in this antenna, just want my ol speedo to work over 70 to 80mph
