Rumble on the River - Schedule of events

For those of you planning on coming to the Rumble, here's a list of the events planned for Fri./Sat./Sun.
August 6, 7, 8 in Carrollton, Ky. at Point Park.

Friday afternoon I thought maybe just a Long River Cruise, maybe down to Madison,IN. and back, then party (grilling, drinking, bench racing) at the Point Park.

Now things get serious - Sat. moring 8:30 Drivers Meeting Mandatory if you want to enter the drags (grudge racing only this year). Bill Gohr has agreed to run this event this year. *Note Coast Guard requires us to wear: Helmets, LifeJackets, Working Kill Switch. Racing should begin around 9:30 Sat. Morning.

POKER RUN - Rob King has agreed to run this event, should start around 2:30 - 3:00, we will tell you the stops and rules for this on Sat. morning at the drivers meeting.

We will again this year have FREE Pizza and Beer under the Big Tent, at around 6:30.

At 7:00 pm SHARP THE AIR SHOW will begin just like last year.

At 8:00 pm a BAND from Madison, IN called the Doctors Band will perform live from 8 - 12.

There will be food vendor on site (same as last year) both days.

I'm working on a deal right now with the local HOOTERS Rest. to send us 4/5 Hooters Girls to be on site Saturday to give away autograph calander's and do photo shots with your boat.

Sunday Morning TOP SPEED competition, should begin around 10:00 am.

P.S. I am planning on renting a large tent to keep my 2 boats in would anyone like to share this tent it works out to about $70.00 per boat. Also last year the river was a mess for the Rumble, but this year it is almost perfect. I will take some photos this afternoon while out boating and post them here later.

sounds like another great weekend! i booked my rooms last night, im in the holiday inn express from wed (4th) though sunday the 8th. :)

if rob king needs help with the poker run let me know, my mom helped him out last yr but shes not comming this yr so me and my dad can lend a hand.

Did ya hear that??? Hooters girls!!!! Hope they're better than the bunch we saw in Ottawa!! Haven't seen many posts from the northern Illinois guys on who's going besides yourself. The Rumble date just seemed to rush up on me. Unsure of who I'm putting up. If you want to stop on your way down for the night, let me know. Have plenty of beds/couches/floor. I'm about three hours from you and right off 65. You should be about ready for a beer break about that time. Clyde

Sounds like Jeff isn't going. We have a family conflict with a grad party by Cedar Lake. I'll probably take off work next Thursday and Friday. Go to Blarneys, hang on the Chain Firday and go to grad party Saturday. Sorry I'll miss you. Maybe you can step up and be King of the Rumble. You already are on land but you could do it on the water. I'll be home Wednesday night so feel free to stop. Even if it's Thursday night, I'll leave a key for you if ya want to stay over. Bring your own whips and chains. Looking further down the calender, are you going to Kosh. I've never been there the day and nigjht of the speed runs. I hear it gets pretty wild. Clyde

Dave, I THINK Jeff said it's August 21 or was it the 28th.:confused: I've always been VERY impressed with the Saturday night pictures. I was up there a couple of years ago but didn't show up intil Sunday morning. Thought there might still be some drunk naked women sleeping on the parkbenches. No such luck. Looks like you got a major scheduling conflict.:( It appears a lot of people will be blowing off Ottawa to go to Kosh. Too bad as Ottawa is a pretty good time also. But the "sights" are a lot better at Kosh. Might not be seeing you intil late August or September. I have to start getting in some SERIOUS boating. Have not had the jetboat out YET. My interior parts were supposed to be done six weeks ago and I just got them back. That puppies going in the water this weekend. I went out with you guys in May at ottawa and had the little boat going July 4th wwekend. That's it. Pretty depressing. But the GTO has been out every weekend. Clyde
