Pulled this piston out of a 2.4 Bridgeport. Came out of a hole that had a steel sleeve in it. The piston doesn't look that old but check out the locator pin. Looks kind of high doesn't it? Doesn't look like it was pushed up but like it came that way.
Does it look right? I'm thinking I should change it out.

Thats the way most Weisco locater pins look . Make sure that the ring "dimple" cannot spin pass the pin. Seems odd that you have worn the nurlization off the top ring lan area and even into the main piston skirt where the piston cannot "normally" rock due to the wrist pin holding it in place ! Most of the time the places worn like that are found at the exhaust side of the piston where it CAN rock , drag , and smear that area of bore contact !
Good luck.......

Maybe it was in backwards! :)
Seriously, based on the where is there something I should be looking for with regards to problems with the wrist pin?
Why doesn't wisco put the pin further down to lessen the chance of it spinning?
Thanks. This motor building stuff is still a little new to me.
