Well, if you jack the motor to infinity...
Borrow your buddies 34 pitch prop...
Get back about 2mils...
Half way through the run press the button, empty the bottle... Hope you live through it..
Stalker Gun
128.4 mph
Speed Alley
Still hold the speedy record and bragging rights at Speedy Alley..
Who did this you might ask....
Kevin Kraft:)

128 is moving. Is that on the bottle?, what will it do off the bottle?. ( I do not feel the bottle is cheeting, if that is where you think I am headed).
What is your set up?
Oh and if you want ultimate Bragging rights you need to beat David Carver, he runs 130ish in the quarter, and I have heard that he has been over 140 with a little more room.

Nice speed and good looking ride. And he does this with no helment, jacket or anyother protection??
Howdy Kevin,
This Brad Collins. I guess you could say I'm in DRAG on BK's name. Anyway, I'm glad to see your boat is still looking & running good. I do hope you wear the proper safety equipment when racing and playing hard. I don't know how many people have been seriously hurt out just havin-hi-speed-fun.
Take Care & Play Safe,
Brad
Correction,
Mr. Kraft was running a 32 inch wheel, not a 34 as previously stated.
The pass was maybe a little over a 1/4 mile long. Mr, Kraft is running a mod. 260 with a single stage nitrous system on a Mirage River Racer.
He only hit the button for about 3 or 4 seconds and was on his was to 130 mph, the radar gun was still climbing but those dam jet skiers got in the way, basterds.
Kevin, I mean Mr. Kraft has also run 121 mph with no juice. And by the way, the air temp on those days was in the 100 degree range............Uncle Tony:D :D :D :D
A little white and red bote like that, seems like we all spanked that little bote.
It was kinda purdy, pilot was not, but the boat was purdy.
Hey Kevin!

Uncle Tony,
how fast does your RIOT do at the bar? Can it hang with the Mirage? How about in the rough?

David carvers official speed at Plymouth,NC was 136.38 mph set in the #96 Skywalker STV. NOONE should attempt to spray as much nos as david does. an accurate hour meter would have to measure seconds. rpm's are hitting close to 12,000
he runs a single stage system with 6 nozzels full spray off the line. in plymouth he was running a borrowed lower unit with the nose cone offset low. David said the boat is capable of 140+.
as if that isn't fast enough david has a pugh hydro in the garage that is going to run 150+.
At speeds like that you must want to be six feet below ground.
Personally I would rather remain sixabove.

For all of us who know Kevin K. or have and this misfortune of running across him and got spanked, know his Sh@t runs.. Now if you have passed Kevin K., your Sh@t runs. But if one own's a Eliminator and it gets around him, well that gets under his skin...lol

What seems to be the correct setup for the Mirage. I have one by Brad with the modified bottom (extra step) should it be with a 15"mid or 20"mid.?? Bolted directly to the transom or some jackplate??? and propshaft level with pad or up ??
Please help !!!!
Thanks
Which model Mirage?
Ski, River Racer, Wildcat? etc.

Hey BK its a Mirage Jaguar 1990 model
Vishus
I think the Mirage over all is a faster drag boat however I have spanked Kevin and he has spanked me, it's a matter of weight who has the least amount of gas.
I have another friend with a Mirage with a drag motor and I have edged him out but it's close.
Kivin has a five gallon tank now, so now I have to get a five gallon tank. Kevin spanked me last time out, I had some motor problems, like lots of water in in the combustion chamber due to a leaking sleeve.
I think the Riot is a better rough water boat. The boat will run about 100 mph with a Yamaha 24 drag wheel and a littlle over with a 24 lighten ET thats without nitrous.
I've never run a top end pass with the juice. I don't really care to go much faster that 100 mph but I do like to get there real quick.
Kevin and I race without the Juice because I don't want to go over 100 mph and if he were next to me at 100 mph I would most likely not get out of it and why turn that many RPM and risk blowing up................Uncle Tony:D :D :D

ok, could we please get the king of the river story straight...kevin says 2 mile run out, ut says 1/4 mile...kevin says 1/2 way thru the run empty the bottle, ut says 3 or 4 seconds on the button (and that definitely aint going to empty no bottle), kevin says 34, ut says 32 pitch...alright guys, what's the real story...either way though, 128+ is gettin it, anyway you do it...dennymac

Nor-Cal is not Kevin Kraft, Kenin Kraft did not say these things, I Mark did. UT was there, I was not. I exagerated a bit to give Kevin Kraft a hard time. Again Kevin Kraft did not POST this, I Mark did...

Guys:
Sixabove is correct in his #s regarding David Carver. I think
we're getting a little carried away here. There is a big difference
in what you can pull off in a race boat, and what you can do
in a "lake boat".
I'm not talking about the use of nitrous either. To acheive those huge top end #s (120+0) in a quarter mile, it's mandantory.
Anyone who runs 115+ in the quarter mile (NO BS/SHOW THE
TIME CARD) has something to be proud of.
The ODBA has a 1250 lbs. minimum weight limit for it's Unlimited
class. IHBA does not. The IHBA record run was by Jon Wright
last year (2000) @ Augusta, GA. He ran 156 MPH @ 7.52 in his Pugh hydro, if my memory serves me correctly. Unfortunately Jon
crashed at the same race this year. 156 MPH in the quarter mile
is to my knowledge the fastest speed ever recorded by an
outboard powered boat.
Unfortunately, ODBA does not have the ability to give ETs or
MPH. Their records are conducted with radar, and therefore are
limited to speeds only, no ETs. With their rules model, there are no breakouts, so they can run without them, although I would sure like to see them as a competitor and a fan.
It would also be difficult compare their speeds and ETs to other
sactioning body records because of the difference in starting
styles/systems. ODBA runs a fast idle, in gear start, close to
or even slightly into the 1/4 mile. That usually results in a slower
speed and ET, kudos to David Carver for his 136 mph.
Pretty much everyone else uses the holding rope, dead stop/125'
run up to the starting line system. It would be interesting to see
what David could do at an IHBA race.
I'm not married to either system. One's not better than the other,
they're just different. They are both fun to run under. Maybe more
psyche games under the ODBA system.
In competition, it doesn't matter how fast you're going when you cross the finish line (MPH), it's who gets there first (ET)!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone,
Steve Zuckerman
PS Good to see you at Jasper Brad!:)

Kevin called me and told me to set the story straight. His friend Nor-Cal was just playing with him..........Umcle Tony:D
