In a 1991 Merc 200, what holds the pin in place that's between the ends of the rings?

Most of the time NOTHING they fall out ! LOL.........They are pressed in with an interfearence fit !

Mercurys warrantee HeeHee holds them in until the warranty is past.:eek: Sometimes. At least the 2.4s were covered by the ring.:cool:

That’s almost worse because there is no sign the pin is coming loose until it buries its self in the piston and the ring spins around. At least the 2.5s start cutting a groove in the cylinder wall.:D
