Visit the original Romp thread....it has the links for the Flipp Inn, the Inn at the Bridge and the campsites. If those don't work the Holiday Inn and Super 8 in Johnstown are the best bets. Better book soon though because they will fill up.

I personally will not be camping for the summer Romp. Some that are coming are staying at the Flipp Inn....a few have talked about camping. The campsites will be a whatever is available type deal. I wouldn't expect anyone to find blocks of sites. We generally stay up late and do more beach type stuff at this event. Come equipped to spend the day on the boat Saturday at Sand Island...perhaps a damn run Sunday morning if there is enough interest.

Ok I'm in at the Inn Flip that is !!!:D They still have a couple of rooms left, but he said you'd better book soon there filling fast! Look'n forward to some new water ;) What are the normal water conditions there! I hate cold water, I'm such a baby!!

Anybody got a 32 i can try when I get there, also what about gas on this Dam run. I thought I read it was 45 mile one way (@ 2 mile to the gal :eek: ) is that true? Help I'm lost and I haven't left the house yet :rolleyes:

I'm going to take Friday off. Wasn't gonna but you guys leave me no choice. The sites are hit and miss and finding a block together is almost impossible.

I'm thinking an early dinner on Friday at Lanzi's (preferably by boat) and the party is on Saturday for Sand Island.

Remember (the water is still high) but....take your time and figure out what all the warning markers are warning you against. If you see green and red...then follow the channel. No blindly blasting around like the June Romp. We've never lost a wheel at any of these events and I'd like to keep it that way.

All rite I found the place ( I hope) I'm leaving Friday mid morning I should get there around 2ish? Is there anyplace that we're meeting on friday ? When are you getting there Sam? I may need a baby sitter till I learn my way around :rolleyes: . Is there a dock out in front of the Flipp Inn? or will I have to pull it at night (boat launch?)? How far is it to the camp ground ?

I feel dumb asking all this but I have gotten into the wrong place before with the trailer on and we know how that turns out :mad: :confused: also I want to boat not stay on the trailer !!

Now all I have to do is put in a couple of pistons wash it get it striped , put in the gas catty (or is there fuel on the lake?) oil and pack.

Sand Island hang out sounds cool !:D ! Do I bring a small grill for wieners and burgeres or is munchies and sandwichs in order? I assume a cooler of adult beverages is Manditory ;)

I just reserved sites 159 & 165, not much to choose from and NO Waterfront..... So me and Bulletboy are taken care of. I still have to talk to Dirty Bert

The ranger said if there is a cancellation elsewhere when we show up, we may be able to swap out sites, but I ain't prayin' for it....

Ray, if you get stuck, you can camp on one of our sites;)

Saturday we can go to Sand Island in the morning but I think it will be best for everyone to set up at Miller's Grandview Marine. We can set up some tents, have bathrooms, be dry and near a ramp all at the same time. Much easier on the families and with packing. So let's plan on some boating Friday afternoon and evening...Lanzi's Friday night. Boating Saturday morning and a picnic at the marina on Saturday. I plan on getting Sandwich trays with accessories for lunch. We'll determine Saturday dinner on everyone. We can grill, go out whatever. I will get direction up today as well as a lake map.

Split lake in two...note Fish House on each map. Make sure when coming south from Northville to follow thew channel on the east side of the lake. Note Sand Island and Miller's Marina.

Nobody wants to got to the Romp more than me, but I'm F'd I need a head gasket for my 1991 2.5 200 merc :eek: everywhere that I have called is back ordered from merc :confused: ?? I'm waiting but time is running out. If someone has one laying around and doesn't mind bringing I'll buy it and I'll put it in in the parking lot Friday!!!! I just rebuilt two pistons in it and between the rain and lack of parts I won't get any time on it before I go, I feel like someone doesn't want me there :mad: !!! This is teaching me a lesson I WILL HAVE A SPARE MOTOR! :D Soon!! Regaurdless I will be there even if the Talon stays home and I bring the family truckster ( my 24' Chaparrel,it ain't the fastest by far but it will take ya 57 with the family on the rough stuff or rain full of hot dogs the grill and a cooler of beer :D ) Hope to see ya all there!

I'm In if I have to push my boat there and drag around a chunk of the flotation with bow #s on it! :rolleyes: It is getting to be that bad thanx for the head gaskets but the exhaust gasket was bad, so until tommorrow I still don't have my boat together (maybe??) So I'll be there with no hours on the new motor hopefully a new prop (if that comes in) still have to wash truck and boat (didn't get it striped :( ) get packed and grab the other half to do the same thing?? With any luck I will be leaving New Hampshire around 9:30 and getting there as soon as I can :D about 3.5 hours + or -

BTW, My buddy "Dirty Bert" Brett, had a slow speed stuff two days ago.

Thank god it was slow (40mph), he got caught by some rollers and stuck the nose. Tore up some rub rail, got a couple of new stress cracks and got a facefull of H2O.

Thank god that's all that happened. STV boys, either shut it down and turn, or FLOOR IT ;)

He's back and running and he'll be there Friday afternoon.

I drove Bulletboy's boat back, It really made me miss my ole Hydrostream. Just something about hangin' on the pad.

I just may post the repairs for educational purposes. I did inspect the boat before the ROMP, but I believe it started on the side of the pad 4.5' from the rear and just didn't like running over 100 in the chop and rollers;)

Even when ya check, things can happen.

Keeping my cool can cool. Post a pic of that bad boy. It doubles as a lift wing to compensate for the down force provided by my windshild. How's your crack? My Stratos doesn't have a crack...maybe that is why it isn't as fast as your boat:)
