I have a stator that a friend gave me today for my inline, he said he thought it was good, but I would like to know for sure before I go thru pulling the flywheel and replacing it just to find it does not work. Can you test a stator? thanks in advance for the help. ~GB

You can test it with an ohm meter but need more info to tell you how. Year, make, hp

THE BEST WAY TO TEST IT, COURSE IT HAVE TO BE ON ENG IS WITH A PECK VOLTAGE METER, LIKE A STEVENS 77 OR ANY OF THE ONES THAT MERC SELLS...ITS EASY TO DO...YOU JUST SPIN THE FLYWHEEL WITH THE STARTER AND TAKE THE READINGS...ANY OF THE MERC SERVICE MANUALS (LATEST ADDITION) or SCHOOL MANUAL WILL HAVE THE CORRECT SPEC'S..:D
