today i was gettin fuel, and the moron at the fuel pier let fuel into the boat, and im not talkin about a little bit, im talkin about like a gallon.. so needless to say, that cut my boating day short, i got back to the ramp, pulled the plug, let all the fuel out, brought the boat back home and shot water all up inside of it.. but can still smell fuel STRONG coming from the under floor, i have a cutout and thats how i was gettin water up under the floor.. what the hell do i do with this?
Oh and dont say somthing like, dont go back there blahblahblah, i already know that, i just need to know WHAT to do right now so i dont loose this boat!

stuff to remove the smell and residue you buy it at fuel oil suppliers such as home heating oil companys, also bilge bully works very well to remove oil and gas residue I think it made by marykates marine products
That sucks and I would send them a cleaning bill
Good Luck

ima send em more than a bill, im not that happy about it.. the smell doesnt bother me persay as the fear of sparkin up a jo err cigarette and going boom.. that would make jesse a really upset person and thats just not gonna happen for some little twits inablility to hold a fuel nozzle INSIDE the tank.. will that stuff your talkin about work to remove the combustable vapors?

Jesse,
As Bulletboy said, Bilge Bully works well for that. If you're in a hurry, mix dishwashing detergent with warm water and rinse the boat down with it. Let it run out the bilge and keep the interior out of the boat. Dishwashing detergent is great at removing petrolium residue.

will be gone by morning as long as the boat can air out open all compartments and access panels in the floor

well its a closed floor cept for the hole in the middle of the floor (cutout) which i left open, and the bildge is open.. should i set the bow on the ground to allow the vapors to rise out the rear?
lol, my boats gonna fart HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

One boat I bought, and the guy got trim fuid all over in the back. So I had to bring it home from the lake...I put a bunch of dish soap in there and a few inches of water;) Got home and pulled the plug, rinsed it out. Most all of it was gone from it splashing around. I stomped the brakes and gassed it a few times on the way just to make sure when I hit lights, corners, etc.

Squirt it in and add water. Drive around to slosh it around and let it sit. Rinse well, several times.

I'm with Superdave.
Dawn is what they used to get the oil out of the birds after the Exxon Valdez spill. It works real good and will not harm the carpet.
You can get a fresh mountain smell too!!!:D

I used to do a car up, and clean the interior. I would take the carpet out, and scrub it with laundry detergent. Then I would let it soak...and pressure wash it to rinse. Worked very well, or sometimes I would just shop-vac it back out if not that dirty. These were cars I painted and needed the interior to look good too. Yes the dawn is great for oil, and the laundry soap works good on dirt/mold/etc., and of course it is made for material so it should only hurt the cheapest of indoor carpets maybe.

I just throw a bar of soap down in my bildge area. As you get some water down there and it sloshes around all day your bildge will clean itself. You never have to mess with it.
