welding a lowerunit

Has any body welded a lower unit in this spot(see pic) and have good luck??:confused:

Thats your Friend.;) I usally have them welded when they are together, the weld pulls the gap close and could make it hard to put case together. If you weld it when the case is together, don't get too hot you will cook the O ring. But that crack is not close to the O ring.

I have them welded all the time. Why did yours crack. Watch for sloppy bearing carrier area. HeeHee
