New seat mounts ?

I just pulled the seats and bases out of my 1994 X-stream voyager. Damm near blew my back out !!! The base when removed from the seat weighs over 25 pounds Each !! The seat alone was 12 # ea.

What do the new aluminum swivel and slide bases weigh ? I think 37 # ea. for a seat and base is way too much !!! Im sure Im not the first one to deal with this.
