medalion high speed speedometer pickup, when mounting it to the bottom of boat, how low does the arm need to be below the boat.

The instructions say to keep the centerline of the bottom screws at least 3/4" above the bottom of the boat. The bottom screws on mine are about 2" above the bottom.

It needs to be low enough to still be in the water when running high speed on the pad. Keep it away from the engine spray. I have mine mounted all the way down, 10" right of the pad centerline.
