What an event - a long needed vacation for me too. It was a pure blast, with awesome people and boats. Aside from that, the location and campgrounds were great.

A huge thank you to David Simon (Liqui-Fly) and the New York crew for making this event as good as they come. We all had tons of laughs and I felt right at home. Rick (Trikki1010) is a total riot and a super nice person, as was everyone there. David's SDS-equipped 2.7 looks like a menacing work of art. Scott has his 2.0-powered Vixen there - very nice work on that boat! Ronnie, I missed you buddy... It felt great to meet up with people I knew from the Connecticut River Run, as well as new people. It was smiles all the way.

Of course, Helmut had to remind me what 120 mph for 15 minutes on end feels like - like I don't already know! 8000 RPM with a 1.75:1 Sportmaster for 15 minutes, without letting up. Oh yeah! The Scream And Fly F STV Euro is running!

Herb introduced people to a new phenomenon - getting "Intimidated"! Many people underestimate what the Intimidator 21 can do with a stock 250. Talk about riding in style - that boat was running 85+ with three aboard through some really nasty slop. I was impressed - what an awesome boat. I can't wait to see what it does with a 300X now.

Rick's blue/grey Euro was also an impressive boat - and that JSRE dry stacked exhaust kept everyone awake on Saturday night! Haha!

Tom, that new Valero YT is beautiful - I miss mine! Good luck with it!

and I owe MANY thanks to Herb from Intimidator Boats for providing me with my "personal office" aboard his RV. Of course, the rides in his boat were icing on the cake. :) Without Herb's hospitality, I would not have been able to take the 200 photos I'll be posting in the Gallery tomorrow!

My biggest regret is not getting a chance to say a proper good-bye to everyone. I'm really sorry about that - Herb can attest to my falling asleep in his RV. I really appreciate the kindess everyone showed me, and for making this experience what it was. Why didn't I do this sooner?

Thank you everyone - it was great to be "home" again!
Greg

PHEW, I was worried what pics were gonna show up;) GREAT time with some GREAT people.

I'd get Greg a sat-link, but we'd NEVER get him out of the camper:eek: LOVE YA MAN ! ! ! ! !

Greg, Herb, Sean (spelling) and Helmut, and the rest, are a great bunch of guys. It was my pleasure to provide some entertainment and share the weekend.

My son, Dillon, even had fun blowing up the little Delta w/ the 70 on it. We'll get it fixed so Brett and the boys can take it out this summer;) BTW Herb, I think Dillon is still sporting wood from being "Intimidated". He should be signing up NOW

I fell in love w/ my shower last night and had to PEEL my head off the pillow this morning........

Hmmmmm, Schroon Lake next ???????;)

It was nice to see everyone at the Sport Island Pub Saturday Night.

Had a great time.

I wish I could have gotten to the lake earlier. But having two kids along, you always forget to bring something and we had to make a pit stop at the store Sunday morning.

But they were very happy they came along.....:)

Wing Nut,

We came looking for you on Sunday b4 we left. Sorry to miss you and your dad.

I really wanted a close up of your boat too....:(

We went passed the camp inside the cove and around the whole outside. You were no where to be found...
Either you already headed out, or you were still on the water...

Be safe in that rig. It looks great!

Greg, if the GPS number was 120, it looks like about 13.4% slip.
That's consistant with the euro we tested with two guys in the boat, altho not in that league when it comes to numbers.

Scream And Fly
06-22-2004, 10:39 AM
Ted, yes... Helmut likes to run the engine very high, resulting in higher slip numbers. Of course, we went a little over 120 at times with two people in the boat :)

Delta Dennin here, damn delta more trouble then we expected. we'll get it fixed in no time, And i will be first in line. Cant wait to show off our almost fixed Delta at the lake.

Don't let that little boat fool you, it's Just as good as your stv's,checkmates and so forth it just hasnt been streched to its full limit yet. LOL......

see ya at the lake.

Thanks!

Not broke in yet. I have about 4 hours on it so far.

Prior to rebuild, the best I saw was 82mph on speedo.

It hasn't done that lately. maybe with the fresh power it may do it again....;)

Platypus and JohnRing: Glad you made it and hope to see you again.I enjoyed running the dam with you and see where the "platypus" comes from!!! Fadin` runs great and doesn`t seem to mind the rough stuff.. John, T-Rex would have been proud of you and George(white and blue-OMC)holding up the Laser tradition.Jim Thompson was very complementary about your assistance at all the drag races(he drives the Action drag boat)There`s something to be said about guys who drive 300 miles to boat....

I noticed several pictures of a Vixen/Hauptner with a 2 Liter Champ motor but they are all stationary. As I remember Ed Hauptner designed and built the wood originals to be run in G production with an 85 short shaft motor with a stock gear case. I would sure like to see what one looks like at speed with that power.

I HATED to miss this one, I've been to all the rest.

Sharkey, I was on my way to AC Monday and I saw your rig going through the Asbury toll. Mean truck!

Chuck, your Skater looks excellent, I gotta get a ride this summer on our river! I'm so jealous.

Greg and Mike, thanks for the compliments. It was just super great time. Mike said that it would be a real nice time and he was right. I hope we can make the Conn.River Run ( as long as our house is not in the construction stage). Tracy really enjoyed talking to Serena and Trish. Blkmtrfan,

Had a stock 200 Merc last year and was getting about 75-80 with average load. Upgraded to a 2.5 race motor haven't dialed in completely, just broke the motor in and gets to 80mph really quick and hoping for high 90's when completely broken in and all bugs worked out.
