I just got a new set of gauges and not exactly sure how to wire the tach, it has a switch to set the number for the charging system, what number should I be on, and what wire connects to the tach? can i just use the brown wire in the harness or do I have to pull a wire from the engine? thanks in advance for the help! ~GB

...if I remember correctly, there is a wire in the harness that is for the tach. If your control box has a 3 prong plug that comes out of it, the tach can be connected there.

I don't have the control box anymore, I am using an in dash ignition swith and choke, and a separate shifter. so all I have to go by is the harness. I know one wire was meant for the tach, but was not sure if I just hooked it to the tach or had something else that needed to be done also. ~GB:D

The gray is the tach lead with the purple the pos+ and black -ground. If a dist motor you can hook it to the switchbox or better yet the yellow lead off the stator at the rectifier. If adi motor the stator lead at the rectifier.
