View Full Version : OMC Looper on a Vector
Anyone tried a OMC Looper on a Vector? Did it want to porpoise bad. Run the motor against the transon? Looper around 50 more lbs. than a crossflow. Thanks gp

Nice pic Gary
Have you done the stringers yet? if not drop me an e-mail. I found a site that makes foam stringers already matted, just glue down and epoxy over, done. Anyways its going to snow soon you'll have all the time in the world to get it done. Keep me posted on your progress.

Instigator, nice rig. But has anyone ran a 200 or 225 full 20" leg on a Vector? What kind of success did you have? What was your setup? Thanks, gdp

Boat came from Troy Oleson in Wisconson.
Ray, jet drive, yep!
Bassin, 4 stringers are in. Have seen the ones you're talking about but I think plywood is stronger.
I used 3/8" ply and I made the center two 6" tall to replace the wimpy 2"er's from the factory.
Added two more 4" tall on the outside of the two main in the center.
Have two transom reinforcing knees to add yet.
Planned on having the structural glasswork done last weekend but got sidetracked.
Had a party last Friday night and attempted to finish off the bottle of Canadian Club that Jeff Williamson brought down to the Rumble for me.
OUCH!
All my local boating buddies were there to inspect the progress on the Stream.
Laser Mod Vee came over, then we went to his house Saturday to see his boat.
He has a Laser Mod Vee (dah!) that is clean as a pin!!
Very straight, very original!!! (may have to convince him it's junk so I can swindle him out of it)
He's trying to decide whether to paint it or save the multi colored gel???
Looks waaaaayyyyyyy too nice to paint in my opinion.
Then O/B 1 stopped by Sunday to do an inspection, and I thought, O.K. do I want to grind, mix, smell, wear, spill, spread glass?? OR-----B.S. about fast boats??? HUUUUUMMMMMH?
Anyhow, was planning on doing a progress report on the Vector with pictures when the knees were in but I may do one of just the stringers yet tonight??
Ray N. what do you think Jeff's 2.7 (?) Yammi weighed???
Kinda using his rig for my yardstick and thinking his motor is close to mine in weight. Probably a little lighter???
B.T.W., I saw his rig advertised on the IHR site if anybody is interested in a gorgeous turn key near 100 MPH, non-Merc Viking????
Have seen it up close and running (pictures on the RR site) and it is the nicest Stream I've seen!! (till mine's done ) ;)
