Opinions on Stratos

There is a 87 Stratos with a 2.5 XRi on ebay. I think it is a VT Rocket. Looking for opinions on the boat.

Isn't this hull very similar to the Laser? This would not qualify for SOB. Anyone know how the boat deals with rough water?

C/E you must have posted after LiquiFly went offline,he has a Straros VT with a 2.7 merc( yes 2.7) (Galen Burden) and can answer most of your questions.I know they have had transom issues,but he can walk you through a complete rebuild if you`re up to it.Check the post on the Rondack Romp and you`ll see pics etc.....

a friend has a 20' for sale now with a big bore 235 on it. They are similar to a laser, but they aren't near as fast. they are a decent all around boat, but if you are looking for something to really run look for something else. They aren't speed demons by any means.

Thanks for the input. I'm already obligated for a while as I bid on the boat on e-bay, but my max bid is way below his reserve.
If he wants to sell it for 3000 I can always flip it.
