It was never made to fit because it was never sold to have that bolt-on intake to fit the OZZ front half but looks like you got looking good.
send me some more pics when you get it running.

Didn't the early '80s 2.6 GT cowlings have louvers around there?

Glad to see your making such quick progres on that rig Greg. I hav finally made some progress on your membership packet for ODBA. You should get it in a couple of days.

You have a fine boat and from the looks of the motor you will have plenty of firepower for ODBA's ProGas Division and your gonna need it. That class is going NUTS this year...

Best of luck!

If you need room just cut the bottom of the intake manifolds off
you should be able to get 1/4 off the mating surface where it goes on the OZZ front half.

Looking really good Greg. I'm anxious for a performance report!

Maybe a 300X cover will fit? Doh, just kidding:D

can you shift the cowling forward? or would that make it not fit in back?

RRRevinrude

hadn't thought off that either--have to offset the mounting pins on the lower pans--maybe jim-have to look when it stops RAINING....................greg

Are those mounts the same as what a 1997 150 evinrude ocean-pro has? if you can get me a couple hand sketches of how they are now, i can make a set for you with the offset that you need..

Either mold a whole new one that fits the styling needs too. Or
cut the offending parts off and mold new sections on. Some foam and plaster of paris would mold the new sections. This method is faster than the first.

Use a 3.4 merc lift off cowl, it has plenty of room.:D .. HeeHee

Could you make a metal pan like the Merc HP cowls? Then you could run a Alien cowl or one of Waynes OMC cowls.

RRRevinrude

thought about a metal lower pan...wayne said his o-z cowl is only for his 12" midsection....i think an old style looper cowling would clear-just don't care for the refridgerator look....maybe t-rex would make me a custom chrysler cowl??? :D :D ....greg
