As I continue to develope the Venom we keep trying new color ideas. Here is the first colored base boat. Taxi Yellow with purple, any thoughts?

I like it, but it would be cool if you could get the rear fairning with a little or all purple

I like it. If I wasn't such a training wheel guy ....................
Jim, give me a call or a e-mail. I still need some good Hydrostream artwork for BTTW.

That is a beautiful boat! I really like the "painted on" windshield. That really gives it a sleeker line and alittle more of the traditional Steam look. Very well done!
Yeah, I agree. The false windshield should always be a darker color, it accents the lines much better. Very nice...
Any metal flake hulls yet?

Great job Jim! I want to personally thank you for reviving the Hydrostream name. And doing it well!
Beautiful boat...
Keep 'em coming...

Jim,
Glad to hear you have a backlog of orders. The success of performance boat builders is important to our sport. Keep it up.

There are people / companies who for very little money can lay all this out using Photoshop instead of trying out new ideas in gelcoat. I know in the auto road-racing community they try out new schemes all the time.
Given a few sketches and dimensions I could make a 3d model of the boat and electronically paint on a bunch of colors too.
BTW I love the scheme and think it would look great in other colors too.

Jim, I think it looks great - imagine how it would look out in the sun! Nice job, and I'm glad to hear the Venom is a success.
Don't tempt me with one!

I got a few more wild ideas... seems like the response has been great the wilder we go. The Tearway pattern seems to be well accepted also, got some ideas to change that around a little...
Blkmtrfan, that Anniverary Vegas with the 300X is in Twin Falls, ID not that far from you. Send Ron a PM if you want to see that boat in person. Ron told me yesterday he'll get some more pictures of the boat soon. I love how level that boat flys with that big 300 on it!

Stream 1 , I would love to see Ron's boat ( is that it in you avitar?) But you lived on the west coast before, Idaho is only over one state, but the west states are big, Twin Falls is a good 12-14 hour drive from my house, but maybe he might come a little west and I can go a little east sometime ;)
I will have to get ahold of him :)

Had some PM questions about Venom weight, we weighed the yellow boat today, 650 lbs hull and deck no rigging. Not to bad for a production 20'7" rig. The Red & White Tear Venom weighs 680 and posted this today with a 32 ET on a stock 225X. I think when we drop back to a 30 and get the RPM's up it will run 96/97. Respectable for a stock 225.

Looks like that Bulldog Boat in the background had better watch out.
If I were not sticking so much into this Vector, I would buy that LSU boat in a second!! As it is going now, I will be painting my Vector base white to match my Z28 Convertible and giving it Purple and yellow stripes that fade to a checker at the tail.
Soon to be called "The Tiger Tale"

Painted windshield makes it look WAY better IMO! Gives that big long beek a much lower, sleeker appearence.

? Jim, I meant that on your latest Venom, the (purple) painted area surrounding the front cockpit/windshield area makes the boat look much meaner. Same basic treatment/principle that makes the STV Euro/ Rockets look so good.
Hey Jim just from covering model airplanes with a bunch of different colors and schemes. That same purple on a white base, accented with yellow or gold pin stripes is a killer combo. Thanks for keeping the STREAM THING ALIVE AND WELL.
