I have a Bob's nose Cone that was installed about 4 years ago. When consulting a Professional about my gel coat fade, we noticed cracking on the Nose Cone. It was seeping water out of it ever so slightly... He suggested he open it up and re due it. Any other people ever have this? I have a 175 Mariner Outboard, the nose cone has LWP also. Any thoughts on this... He suggested water seeped between the epoxy or something then froze and expanded...

Sand the faded clear off and re-spray with clear.

Sometimes just ruffing up the surface and spraying clear will do the trick, but I like to get the old off first.

WHY DO YOU SAY YOUR GEL COAT IS ALMOST GONE?IF YOU MEAN IT IS FADED BADLY TRY THIS.COLOR SAND AND AREA WITH SIX HUNDRED GRIT WET SAND PAPER AND THEN USING A POWER BUFFER AND RUBBING COMPOUND BUFF IT BACK UP.I HAVE DONE THIS TO SOME PRETTY CHAULKY LOOKING BOATS WITH GREAT SUCCESS.TRY AN AREA THAT IS FLAT WITH NO REAL BODY LINES FIRST.IF THIS WORKS YOU CAN DO THE REST OF THE HULL JUST BE REALLY CAREFUL AROUND BODYLINES OR YOU WILL SAND THROUGH.I HAVE HEARD OF THAT HAPPENING WITH A CONE LOWER BEFORE AND WOULD PROBABLY LET HIM RE-DO IT.
