Today i went out to the island (hart miller island) and was buzzin around.. and met up with a guy with a 17 checkmate.. sat and talked for about 45 or so minutes.. and he kept on and on and on and on and wanted to race.. i really didnt *want* too just because my motor is worn out and was just puttin around... well i finally agreed just to shut him up.. well get out there and we went from buoy to buoy (amazingly about a quarter mile) idle, ingear start... got to the buoy, and really got on it.. this old goat of a 200 paired up with the vking took him by about 5-6 boat lengths.. accually kinda surprized as this guy talked some serious smack. anywho.. just thought id share

I love all boats... But sometimes it seems the big, expensive, shiny and new, well known brand name, covered in splash graphic, I/O powered monster boat owners just cannot comprehend how some little machine with just a tiny outboard could possibly outrun their beast......

17 checkmate .... big i/o powered.... etc???? quickonstep... hydrostreams when similarly matched in power and size will almost always outrun a mate, nice win though, way to shut him up

Aint it fun to surprise somebody that thinks they have a fast boat?

They just don't know what those OLD 'streams will do.

he had a 17 ft checkmate with a 175 johnson on the back, a BRAND NEW johnson btw.. brand new meaning 04 new..... he had a "prop" on his i just have a aluminum chipped to hell 19 pitch, on a WORN out 200.. worn out meaning this is a 1976 pig that has **** compression right now on 2 holes and still tore a new one in his ass. .. kinda funny tho.. he ran home after that.. i thought for sure i was gonna lose tho, he had a brand new motor and a decent s/s 23 pitch prop.. i mean look at the odds.. heheheheh
