To all of the Christian members, could you all please join me in prayer for my friend David and his family?
Dave, recently contracted bacterial menangitis and was in a coma for 8 days. He came out of the coma, but due to lying still for so long he developed blood clots in both legs. Friday he had both legs amutated just below the knee. He's only in his early 40's had been a mechanic for 20yrs. He has a wife and 2 kids under 10.
I spoke with him last night and he is in remarkably good spirits, but I would ask for prayer support as I know he still has a lot to go through.
Also, he himself has asked for prayer and that is a miracle in itself. He was never a believer.
Thanks,

delawarerick

Thanks guys. Dave is a really good guy. He introduced me to my second wife, the same night he met his wife.
Mine ran off when I got sick (5 years ago, all better now), his is sticking with him like glue. I'm going to see him tonight and I'll update. Some friends are talking about a fund raiser dance here in Hamilton to help him with expenses to have his house made wheel chair accessable. Luckily he had good disability insurance at work, so living expenses and supporting his family is not an issue. Thanks again guys, I know that not everyone who is offering prayers actually puts down a written response, so thanks to everyone.

Sounds to be a good soul, something that they can't take away from you.

You are the Alpha and Omega
and the Lover of our souls
Your Word says that when two or more are gathered in your Son's name that you would be in our midst.....
In Jesus name.......
Please bring comfort and strength and provision for David and his family.......Demonstrate yourself to be real to him, who like myself, has been so self-reliant for so many years.......help David to understand that it's not just OK to be reliant upon you Lord, but it is your delight. Teach him, love him, encourage him, strenghthen him and be David's comfort during this time of great trial.

Father, your Word tells us that ALL things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called to His work....
Please use this terrible circumstance to bring about good in this family's lives......Who could understand this but you Father?

......so please weave this circumstance into something good, as you have promised us.....Have mercy on all of us Lord......those of us who acknowledge you, and those of us who refuse. Meet us all where we are Lord, and my prayer today Lord is that you draw this family close to each other as never before and closer to you as a result of this tragedy....You are the author and finisher of our faith Lord.....Let your Will be done...... Amen

BMac, Amen.
Quick update: I went to see Dave last night in the hospital. He is able to get out of bed into his chair by himself. He has physio 3X a day and is getting stronger by the day. Physically and spiritually. Too bad it sometimes takes something like this to bring a person to the Lord, but the alternative, death without a saviour, is much worse.
The biggest concern for him now is to get his house wheel chair accessable. He can't be sent home until it is. His wife and a "committee" of family and friends are taking care of that.
Thanks again everyone, for your care and concern, I'll print off this thread and give it to him. Should be an inspiration.

My prayers are with him. My son came down with meningitis last fall and spent 14 days in intensive care, 10 more days in a room. and 8 weeks of IV's at home before being fortunate enough to recover. He has a long hard road ahead and will need all of the help his family and friends can give him.
