Does anybody know if the original HST's (Pipcorn's Hydrostream's) had a slight hook incorporated in the pad? I have looked at 2 hulls, both 1990's, and they appear to have about a 1/8" hook starting about 12" - 16" from the back edge of the pad. It looks to be only on the very bottom surface and not the 2 smaller surfaces on either side of the pad.
If this was intentional, has anybody removed it in an attempt to help with bow lift? Would it become a little too flighty at the upper end?
Thanks, in advance, for any info, Mike
I'll let you know. I'm having Randy Pierson (GPI) look at mine when we go down there in a couple of weeks.
I'm thinking that the hook could be the case for some.

Mine has no hook, if it did it was removed before I got it. When I blueprinted the bottom it was already pretty straight, just rippled gel coat

Straight and flat all the way. Mine has also been blueprinted though. I don't think Howard intended any hook in them. I would take it out if I were you.

That is what I thought. I was getting ready to remove it and then got to thinking about it and I just wanted to make sure it wasn't put there on purpose to fix a handling problem. Kind of interesting how 2 boats are identical though.
It will be very easy to remove.
Thanks, Mike
