93, 200 GT Johnrude Problems

Hi Guys;
My tach didn't work and the rectifier wasn't charging,so after reading S&F forum sugestions,I replaced the rectifier.The tach mnow works and the charging system goes to 13.4 v

The engine will start instantly,run for about 20 seconds,then go out.( will run rough with some throttle 2000rpm)but will not idle.

I've checked the wireing harness and everything is connected. I decided to check the plugs,right side lookes fine,left side is dry black soot ! ! ( I cleaned the plugs,even swapped sides.
I sure could use and appreciate some help.

It sounds like its only running while in quickstart.i would double check your two wire connectors with the brown wires from the stator to the power pack.One of the connectors may have a pin pushed back or is not aligned with the socket in the mating plug,Its probably running on 3 cyls and will only stay running while the timing is advanced in the quickstart mode.Dave
