Anyone know what would cause the parts per million on an 85' Z28 with a 305 tpi to be 1700 instead of the allowed 1000? Was gonna do a full tune up then someone said it could be the egr valve:confused:

Hydrocarbons? Carbon Monoxide? NOX? Which component is 1700PPM? Is this reading at idle or cruise? More info and maybe we can help.

Your O2 sensors might be bad... A common problem on high-mileage cars that will cause them to run very rich.
