OK, lets hear it...your opinion of the best place for performance boating in the US. Criteria to include areas of good water for running flat out, places to party/camp/or whatever, and the bikini factor is always important. Does any place have it all? My vote goes to Havasu. What do you folks say?

Florida Keys.. Plenty of Bikinis.. And often have good places to run flat out if you know where to stay away from the flats.. And I'm here.. So I'm always just a matter of minutes from the water.. As long as my boat is running..

Top five reasons Minnesota is THE Hot Bed of Hot Boating (sorry it's late):

5. GPI None better. Nuf said.
4. 10000 lakes. Oh, by the way, these are PRISTINE lakes. I'm 9996 to the good here.
3. 6 months of summer condensed to 4 to 6 weeks. No excuse to NOT go boating. If this doesn't motivate you, move to the Keys.
2. We have bikinis here too. Too much of a good thing however will ultimately lead to complacency.

And the #1 reason Minnesota is THE Hot Bed of Hot Boating:

1. 6 months of winter to reload the bullet and save to pay the refineries. :D

Over a 1000 miles of water highways with a 2" wind chop and no speed limits or Manatee's. Plenty of restaurants, bars, music, and bikinis. Access to SF Bay (which means the world).

I can leave my house at 10AM boat at 70 - 100 for 5 hours, stop for food, gas, and to party and only cross the same water the last 5 miles from my house.

Plus it is Northern CA, where else could you surf in the morning, water ski at lunch, and snow ski in the afternoon?

My nearly private lake in Northern CA.

It winds around a couple of times, seldom any one on it during the week.

Only bad thing, no other fast boats.

This is great! In just a few sentences I am learning a lot about places I've never been, and may one day want to move to. :D

Lake Powell Utah would be killer if it was at lower altitude and didnt kill my top speed numbers. Its about the most gorgeous place on earth. gets pretty rough with all the big boats but there are places to run flat out that are miles from any other boats. AND get this...theres a beach INSIDE a huge cave. You pull your boat in and there is a pretty big beach inside for camping, volley ball, bonfires, etc.... Pretty cool, eh?

That beech at Lake Powell sounds real cool. I'd like to see that.

The problem with these suthin places for us Yankees is thaze too hot! We could go down when it was comfy shorts weather 60-70* and youse would spot us and call us yankee. - no tan.
And if we go in the summer we melt and you spot us and call usyankee :D
Not to mention the weekly sun. I just came off of a week of cloud,(rain), that thing in the sky shrivels my eyes- like some kind of troglodite.

A buddy of mine has a few 35mm photos of the cave beach. There is a 32' formula anchored inside the cave and a bunch of campsites on the beach. I'll see if he can scan it for me.

Sorry fellas.....I believe I live in a good spot. Bout 20 minutes from Smiths Bend. 4 hrs from Suwannee, 6 hrs from Palatka and RBR, I'm looking into you guys in LA and TX. You guys look like you have a large time thata way. Hell where else can you haul ass on the water on New Years.:D I think from the Melon Bellies on down to the Keys you won't find a better stomping ground for fastest outboards. ODBA, DSRA, and all the weekend warriors. (Pic attached is from New Years on the Bend)
