In my opinion, no other boat better represents what we at this board are all about.
John M's (US1) twin Merc powered Tunnel boat looks like a scary monster sitting still, and is my favorite choice for the boat I'd most like to borrow to go idiling through the local coves full of I/O cats with a **** eattin grin on my face!!
Tried to copy his picture here, but I ain't good enough on this damn puter!
Try the attachment bellow.

Just when I put a face to a name, your face changes. Are you morphing into something? Or does your head constantly change depending on how much sun you've been exposed to and what mood you're in?
Whatever it is, I get a kick out of it.:D

To say that boat looks awesome would be to miss the point. John, that boat is incredible. Let's think of good names for it - if it was my boat, I would have on it, in nice large lettering:

"What, you wanna race? I didn't think so."

LoL

Hey John, I got something for your Silverwing right here. If those old Chryslers ran 127 this ran 135 in its day, no, I meant 145, oooppps I really meant 155, and it could do it in 1/8 mile.........yeah, that's it 155 in the eighth. Bring it on.

Where do I pick one up just like that?

I dunno. I found this one in an old dairy barn in L.A. (lower Alabama) It's a neat old piece, huh? Way too loud to run, but neat anyway. I've got my eye on an old Carlson thats got a narrower transom for a single engine. It looks enough like this one to confuse for the same brand, but needs more work than this one does. I'm gonna take this one apart sooner or later and make it new.

I THINK THAT STEVES MIRAGE(WILD PAINT JOB ON FRONT OF S&F) SHOULD WIN HANDS DOWN. IT ALSO TOOK #1 IN HOT BOATS WILD PAINT JOB OF THE YEAR IN THE LATTEST ISSUE. IF IT DONT WIN THEN I THINK YOU SHOULD PICK MY XB2002. HEHEHEHEHE!!!!!!!!!!!!:D :) ;) :p

I have to agree with Eric, that Mirage of Steve Z. is one the the nicest boats I've ever seen, the detail is awesome.
But a second choice might be a Yellow Allison LOL

IT IS BY FAR THE BEST LOOKING SS2000 I HAVE EVER SEEN. I WILL RUN THE XB2002 NEXT YEAR AT KDBA TO KEEP TIME OFF THE DRAG MOTOR FOR SOME ODBA RACES. WILL RUN IN THE 11SEC CLASS PROBALLY. ISN'T THAT THE CLASS YOU RUN IN? THANKS ERIC

The Wing, US1 Sweeeeeet machine, However, Barney may be lurking...He may just go get another 300 and strap it on that Liberator, and put a Naked bow ornament on it .... Wouldn't THAT be interesting.

Also , there was a featured boat, where the guy had an unreal paint job on a STV ?? The interior matched as did the upholstery, Checker flag design. That boat was an real catcher for sure. So for pure looks, that gets the vote, For shttin your pants, the wing, hands down. Also would have to add Balzy's paint job in here, tastey also!

H2ONUT,

That boat you are talking about, with the checkered flag upholstery and wild paint job, was Steve Zuckerman's MIRAGE.

You are right -- I'll have to cast my vote for that one for Boat of the Year too... That was some gorgeous work!

As ALLISON said, it won the "Hottest" contest in Hot Boat magazine too. (current issue)

I THINK YOU WILL HAVE TO AGREE THAT THAT BOAT IS BY FAR THE BADDEST BOAT THAT HAS BEEN SEEN THIS YEAR ON S&F. NOT TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM EVERYONE ELSES RIGS. BUT HE SPENT ALOT OF TIME, MONEY, AND EFFORT TO MAKE THAT RIG HAPPEN. I KNOW CAUSE I HELPED HIM WITH SOME OF THE RIGGING MYSELF. THE PAINT JOB TOOK THREE MONTS TO COMPLETE I SAW THE WHOLE THING HAPPEN. THIS BOAT IS TOP NOTCH FROM THE WORD GO. THE BEST PART OF IT ALL IS THE FACT THAT IS IS FOR SALE AT ONLY 15K BOAT AND TRAILOR. THANKS ERIC.

COME FOR A RIDE WITH MYSELF OR STEVE AT AROUND 115 IN ABOUT THE DISTANCE OF THE 1/4 ON A LAKE SETUP. I RODE IN THE BACK OF IT AND HAD A MOHAWK ON THE SEAT FROM MY ASSCHEEKS. 2.5 RUCK PORTED ORINGED HEADS, SVS, 175HP NOS AND WHEN HE HITS THAT BUTTON LOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKK OOOOOOUUUUUUUTTTTTTT. AT THE LAST RACE AT KDBA THE BOAT RAN 116MPH AT 9.97 ET AND WAS ONLY RUNNING ON 5 CLYS W/24PITCH PROP. IMAGINE A 28? OR IF YOU CAN PHATHOM IT HOW ABOUT A 30? OR A 32?. YOU WOULD SEE 140+ I WOULD BET EVERY THING I OWN ON IT. THAT IS WHY HE GOT MY VOTE. HE HAS TAKEN ME FROM A 2000 BULLET W/280 @ 95MPH TO A XR2001 RUNNING MID 9S OFF THE ROPE AND PRO FULE AND PRO GAS AT ODBA HOLDING ITS OWN IN 1 1/2 YEARS. THIS GUY IS MY MENTOR AND HIS BOAT WILL MAKE YOU SH#T YOUR PANTS IF YOU RIDE IN IT. MY BASSBOAT RUNS 104 IN THE 1/4 I THINK IT SHOULD BE ON THERE BUT IS NOT WORTHY OF THE LIKES OF STEVES CALIBER OF WORKMANSHIP. JUST MY OPPINION I COULD BE WRONG AND DONT TAKE ME WRONG. THANKS ERIC

I would throw my vote for US1's SilverWing. US1 do you run that boat in Parker? I could swear that you followed me into the keys earlier this season if it's the same one that I saw in person that is one "fast lookin" ride.

About 11-13 years ago, a friend of mine (ya know that friend with too much money :D) bought a SilverWing that looked pretty similar. His was solid purple and said "Purple Haze" across the back... The story goes that his particular SilverWing was one of Three made. One was still Racing, One tragically ended in a car accident, and he had the other one... BS I dunno but it was a cool story.. :D The boat was a sterndrive with a Twin Turbo Big Block in it. (Hauled the mail)

Here is the film clip of the Silverwing. Its taken 3-week to get this from video to the downloadable file, so please be patient with the 5 minute download if you have DSL or cable modem. If you are on 56K god only knows how long it will take to download.

You guys just won't believe this picture.......

This happened 2 years ago in Lake Charles while this boat was leading the race by a landslide. Suddenly, at WOT, all hell broke loose...But I'm giving it my vote in for boat of the century, because this driver survived with hardly a scratch - only a ruptured eardrum!
