What is this all about? Any photo's. Don't you need a positive Stop?

Dear RULE,

I am an advocate of the negative trim stop. Basically it is just like a tilt pin on some motors. I believe the standard hi-perf bracket has 4 holes in it. So I just place the threaded steel pin (available from Merc) in the lowest hole with a nylok to prevent you from trimming in too far.

Purpose:

too much negative trim can be catastrophic at WOT. This pin will prevent you from trimming in so far that you may stuff the bow into the water at WOT. Once the bow touches down it could steer you round…hold on!

Some boats with short shafts and Long gear case may benefit from this also preventing from the nose cone hitting the jack plate etc!

Draggers may not like it cause it eliminate some negative tuck in, that could dampen Hole Shot
