115 Mercury power trim

Is the power trim unit on an 1988 Mercury 115 inline 6 located on the motor or is it a seperate pump that is inside the boat

That would be the type with the pump on the motor.

I was just wondering where the pump was located. My son was going to buy a 115 inline 6. It is a 1988 model, but the only problem was that if the pump was seperate there wasn't enough room inside the boat to mount it.
