I received a copy of this email and thought this may be the best source for finding what these guys need:

The College of New Jersey engineering department participates in the annual competition, Solar Splash.

The competition's purpose is to demonstrate the feasibility of a solar/electric boat for commercial purposes. One event of the competition is the sprint event, which tests the top speed of the vessel within 300m. This year's team is in need of 2 propellers for our dual inboard configuration.

The specifications are as follows:
Diameter: 7 inches
Pitch: 9 inches
Shaft speed: 3500 RPM
Shaft diameter: 3/4 inch
Taper: Standard
Counter-rotating: 1 left-hand prop, 1 right-hand prop
Motor Horsepower: 11 hp (per motor)

We appreciate any help you can provide in this matter.

Dudes, work that the other way. find the most efficient props and do gearing or run the motors thru a drive to get over 100% on them. There are speed drives aval. for both ac and dc. which are you running? some go to 400%. that would get you into a prop that you could find. Take advantage of all the hydrodynamic work done before us and use the best that we have at the interface of machine and water. The electronics we can invent. Keep me posted, your project rocks!!

Mendo,

This is not my project. Although it looks like it could be really cool.

I was just hoping to come across some information for these guys.

Their email addresses are in the 1st post if anyone has ideas that you would like to share with them that may help with this project...
